In this publication you will learn about how the tower mill works. These constructs are all powered solely by wind, this means that if there is no wind then there will be nothing milled. This can prove problematic for business that need consent production line running and hence when the industrial revelation came along these where no longer used as they where not relaible and prone to catching fire becuase of the very fine powder and heat caused by friction. The first stage is the main stage that all others rely on. This is the wind producing sufficient enough wind to create the large sail to catch wind and turn this produces TORQ and turns the drive shaft.

Step 2- Engaing the drive shaft and transfer the energy vertically

After the sail starts to turn this then starts to turn a very large pice of wood running thorugh the center of the mill caused the “drive shaft�. This is used to distribute power throughout the mills floors to different machines needing power for different jobs.

Step 3- Engaging the gears to begin crushing

At this stage the mill now has power and the power is being distributed through out the mill this means it can now engage its gears that are connected to mills stones crushes and conver belts for transportation. These massive cogs are engaged and disengaged by simply sliding left and right to link in the drive shat where the teeth bite. This is simply a way of diverting energy of the sail to parts that need it.

Step 4- Crushing the wheat into four

The mill is now grinding using two massive stones to rub against each other crushing what ever the mill produces inbetween. This could range from a wheat mill crushing wheat to create flour for bread or crushing pigment for paint. It is funeled in thorugh the middle and the fine flour comes out through the edges. It can also use power to crush object as well as grind.

Step 5- Siving the kernals out to distiguish between brown and white bread

This step is mainly for when grinding wheat and wanting to produce ether white or brown bread. the Kennels need to be saved out for when producing white bread and this is done by passing flour through a cylinder with rotating fans by a sieve like material to then allow the finer flour with no kernals to pass through. And this is then added or left in for brown bread.

Step 6- Kegging

When the raw material is crushed to become corse enough or fine enough it is now ready to be sorted into bags and ready for pickup and transporation.

Wind direction will change and then because of this, one of the main functions of a windmill is the fact that it can turn the top or it 360 degrees and it is the design of the tower mill where only the head turns and not the whole body. The mechanism that turns the windmill is a pull that is engaged by turing ether left or right. Also if the wind is blowing to powerful then the sails must be directed out of the wind too to stop the sails from being put through to much TORQ and snapping the sails off.
