The Modern House Competition – Judges’ Mention Award / May 2011 (by Roth + Sheppard Architects and the Denver Architectural League) A new definition for modern language, modern living, and modern lifestyle in an abandoned airport runway on one of the 44’ × 68’ given parcels. Over 70 architects and designers challenged the idea of Modern architecture. My project focused around the Japanese concept of the Ma. The jury was intrigued by my organization, proportions and implications for modern living. RELATIVE EXPERIENCE

International Joint Urban Design Studio / Nanjing, Jiangsu, China / Summer 2012 Learned how to work in a global design practice in a rapid urbanizing global region. This was a joint urban studio with Southeast University with our client being the Nanjing Municipal Urban Planning Bureau. The studio site was located along the famous city walls of Nanjing which was once the main gateway to the city. Cultural Arts District Specific Plan / Fresno, CA / Summer 2009 Studio developed a specific plan for the City of Fresno Downtown and Community Development Department. The focus was to revitalize and integrate the city core with the surrounding urban fabric and make the cultural district a destination point for the city. Chinatown Urban Design Plan / Salinas, CA / Spring 2009 Cal Poly worked with the Salinas Redevelopment Agency, Local Government Commision, and Fe Tom, an architect from Arizona working on the project, to construct an Urban Design Plan which were used to help pick the best alternatives for catalyst sites identified by their financial consultant. Held two community design charrettes, did an intensive site analysis and inventory, created a form based code, and a specific plan for the community. City Planning Department / Delano, CA / December 2008 Planning Student Intern – Updated the local historic home ordinance and organized residential and commercial proposed plans while studying the city’s future strategy. Understood the dynamic and nature of a city’s planning department.
