The number of people facing undernourishment is estimated to have reached 821 million, according to the Food & Agriculture Organization of the United Nations. According to the World Food Programme (WFP), Ghana is faced with the triple burden of malnutrition (underweight, overweight and vitamin and mineral deficiencies). This is the most intuitive result of the global food challenge. The Ghana Innovative Farm is a new typology farm that aims to combine the process of planting, harvesting, processing, packaging and distribution as well as food education into a single farming community. This is designed to answer the issues of Global Food Challenge, by bringing the agricultural revolution to Ghana.
Land Degradation
The burning of e-waste, illegal mining, and deforestation. Lack of professional technology in processing unwanted e-waste has led Ghanaians to burn them to extract the heavy metal from it. The infertile land has directly reduced the harvest of farmland.
Insecurity of farmer jobs
Infertile soil from land degradation combined with hot and dry conditions in Ghana make their harvest become unstable as well. From the socio-economy perspective, farming is a low-income job due to the low food price and culture of small farm holders in Ghana.
Food wasted in transportation and Processing
An estimated 30% of food is lost or wasted somewhere along the food supply chain. The lack of transportation methods, processing and storage facilities are the main roots to this problem.
Rain-fed Agriculture
stated by the World Food Programme (WFP). Majority of them are without the aid of machinery and proper education. Most of them are relying on agriculture livelihoods, and they are small farm holders. This creates the phenomenon of low efficiency of the agriculture system in Ghana.
A new farm system that brings the evolution to the farm in Ghana in order to get rid of poverty and starvation. Hence we include these elements in every part of this farming project
Starting from old days until now, Ghanaians practice commonality from day to night and especially during festival day. Commonality is the practice of eating together with other people and signifies unity and sharing in most cultural contexts. The most fundamental commensal unit› is the family. Many families preferred using little› stools and tables, which are portable, and placed outside where it was cooler
One of the unique characteristics of Ghanaians is they have strong family bonding and community links, and these are maintained in .the diaspora as well. This makes it a home
Compound house is a single or multi-storey with suites of singlebanked rooms connected to an unroofed courtyard that is used for cooking, children›s entertainment area and for family gatherings. .They›re known for being houses defined by their sense of kinship Women in Ghana cook not only for their own family but often for .other kinsfolk reinforcing socialites and networks
Re-greening degraded land in Ghana, providing more food, more income for families and more opportunities by improving the quality of life where the locals are able to get access to health care, education for everyone in the area. In addition, rehabilitate land by using the existing greens or well grown and suitable medium trees to the site so the locals are able to see a good result faster from this idea of farming. Hence, this is able to encourage the locals to further develop their green land and improve their skills in farming
A gimmick to introduce the main vision and mission to the visitor about the place at the main entrance. It brings visitors to explore the process of food processing and to learn every step of how to preserve foods to minimize the urban issue of food waste. According to the processing of food, the arrangement of the buildings are under consideration to achieve a better way of delivering the knowledge of preservation of food to the local and visitor
AThe main spaces of this building refrigerated warehouse, roads and facilitates the reducing food loss in storage stage and vernacular architectural expressions Ghanaian into this innovation farm. Local materials integrate with modern technologies of food preservation to achieve the of economic development that is far more sustainable and ethical

CBuilding C is a secondary warehouse for potatoes storage. The major design intention and concept this building is to prolong and to maintain the freshness the potatoes stored inside. Potatoes need good airtiow and optimum temperature to prevent the accumulation of moisture which may damage the potatoes. All these need to be done in an economically way to adapt the local weather and environment
DThe building has been organized into two simple, L-shaped plans that offer flexible spaces for a variety of events and activities. Through these spaces, end users including children are encouraged to be creative utilizing those spaces according to the different purpose of usages and resulting in a better learning process environment for the children. appreciation the beauty raw bricks and building materials while making a direct visual connection with the expansive of plantations .the surrounding and to the outdoor terrace

Blooming Root
Nan Sha Bird Park, Guang Zhou
‘Rooted below the Water, Blossom above the Land ’
The project title “Blooming Roots” intended to practice the philosophical thought of “harmony between the heaven and human” half pavilion is reinterpreted as a medium for human, bird and nature to interact peacefully without disturbing each other ecosystem.
“harmony between heavan and human” this project seeks a harmonious coexistence between heaven and humans by focusing on the wetland environment and ecosystem. Simultaneously, the ability of mangrove to support biodiversity habitat of wetland ecosystem, adapt and complement themself to the environment make it suitable to be seek as a natural “half pavilion” to the wetland environment,
The design concept is inspired by the mangrove tree in term of its analogy and function. The role of mangrove as biodiversity habitat, coastal protection and its analogy of roots are transformed into the structure and facade of the half pavilion that are able to facilitate harmonious symbiotic relationship among the human, bird and nature
‘Harmony between heavan and human ’
Wetland, as the ecological environment for Nansha Bird Park, is a “stopover” sites which provide migratory birds with appropriate cover in which to rest, refuel, and seek protection from predators and inclement weather before moving on to the next leg of the journey. An important living being that has a significant role in providing ecosystem service for wetland is the mangrove. Mangroves support biodiversity and fisheries, reduce coastal erosion and aids in climate regulation
‘Special view to enjoy the natural atmosphere of Jungle ’
The Rescue Station will be the coordinating point for the rescue effort in cases of lost jungle trackers. It will also function as the jungle ranger station where the protection program to protect the valuable flora and fauna of the jungle will be administered. The Design Intention is to create a stronger connection beteween human habitation and the natural world, let people have a special view to enjoy the natural atmosphere of jungle and encourage the natural material to achieve sustainable design
This exercise is to let us to understand and how we further interpret the sense of scale and proportion in architectural. Furthermore, it also let us to know how sufficient spaces that influence the quality environment of the six members family and also provide them with private, entertainment view point spaces. In short, the design will be achieve the goals which to solve the habitation transformed from ‘simple’ dwelling to ‘ life style living
Cross Generation Habitats Design Intention
Create central pathway to connect each generation
Create central pathway for three-generations habitats to encourage each generation to interact with each other
Provide the three-generation family with sufficient space
It has its own habitats for three-generation family. Then, the quality of space for each generation is important
Create openings space to let each generation to enjoy the atmosphere of the surroundings
Different floor level that provide openings space to let every generation to enjoy the atmosphere of the surroundings, to strengthen the bonds between each generation
.To emphasize the relationships and belonging
Nurture our relationships with the people in lives as well as taking time to strengthen the communities to which we belong to

4th Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area ASEAN International Colleges Design & Construction Competition - The Most Sustainable design Art often has close association with the nature. Nature has proven to be one of the most treasured muses known to man. It provides endless inspiration and idea to artists, where they can bring life to nature in their work. Nature in art is glorified for its sublime and picturesque manifestation on canvas. In fact, nature can be seen as an “art” to be showcased and appreciated for its intricacy and beauty
Nansha Bird Park, filled with lush trees and gorgeous lakes, together with the interactions and movements of birds, it creates a poetic scenery and environment for bird watching and to embrace the true nature. “Re:Leaf” envisioned an ‘art and nature’ connected art space as an embellishment to the Nansha Bird Park, thus giving a sign of new life to the bird paradise
