RECRUITER OF THE MONTH Gina Bartley wrote, “Our winner for Recruiter of the Month is Alanna Weins! She has been with JCT recruiting since April 2016, strives to be the best, and loves the friendly competition with her peers. She sees the good in everyone and loves talking to her drivers. Alanna values her position in the recruiting department and is one of the most positive people we know. She always brings a smile with her and works hard. We appreciate everything she brings to the table in recruiting! Please help me applaud Alanna for showing excellence this month! She will get to enjoy a ½ day off of her choice and lunch on us! Thank you Alanna! Keep up the good work!”

OCTOBER WHATEVER IT TAKES Carl said, “I would like to nominate Gunnar Crider. Gunner is our clean up and trash guy. He truly does what it takes to get his job done. Even in pouring down rain or extreme heat. Gunnar gets the job done. He is truly deserving of this award.” Gunnar was presented with a trophy, a “Whatever It Takes” designated parking space in front of the building, and a $50 QuikTrip gas card. Gunnar will also have the honor of naming next month’s WIT winner.

AWARDS AND ACHIEVEMENTS / Employees and Drivers

DRIVER MANAGER OF THE MONTH Tyler Preston wrote, “The August Driver Manager of the Month goes to Russ Harlow! Russ has been with JCT for about 7 months now. This is his first time winning the DM of the month award and it shows, hard work pays off. During his short tenure he has been perfecting his approach, improving his performance, and building new relationships with drivers. Russ will be awarded the Snooze or Cruise Pass allowing him to take half a day off of his choosing. Congratulations Russ! Mr. Smoot had exceptional numbers as well with no terms or service failures for August however he did not have a full board at this time. His first month to qualify will be September. Several of you are close in the game and on each other’s heels! Keep up the good work team!”

Jennifer Heisley nominated John Six, L4224B. Jen said, “John has done an outstanding job with his fueling, trip planning and most of all is killing it with his paychecks! John has the best attitude about his work and his drive for driving is unparalleled. I commend John for always being willing to lend a hand to any driver on our FB page, and he currently mentors several drivers daily. John’s willingness to help others has also helped him to become a very successful driver with JCT. On a side note, John worked with JCT one other time and was not capable of running his own business at that time. He decided to give it another chance because he knew there was money to be made here if he stuck his nose to the grindstone and mastered his fueling, he could be very successful here. He is very grateful for all the people that have been in his corner to make his success here and most of all to help others be just as successful! John, keep up the great work and great attitude we all appreciate your hard work and dedication to JCT and especially your loyalty to us!!!”

Josh Muskrat nominated Elmer Brand, L4137. Josh said, “One of my top performers and very easy to work with. Elmer does an excellent job each and every month. Great communication. Let’s me know if and when there is a problem and stays on top of issues. He also provides excellent on time service to our all our customers. I truly appreciate Elmer and all his hard work.

Charles Richards nominated Adam Mann, L4052. Charles said, “My driver of the month for September is Adam Mann. He consistently knocks the miles down, gets his safety bonuses every quarter and does not hardly ever turn down pre plans. He has never shown any disrespect towards JCT and always makes on time delivery and communicates when he cannot make it. This driver rarely complains and helps others when asked. Adam has been a pleasure to work with over the last 3-1/2 years.

OUR DRIVERS / Driver of the Month Nominees

Dale Smith nominated Daniel Finney, L4149. Dale said, “Mr. Finney is always in good spirits and is an extremely hard worker. Daniel takes immense pride in his ride as this fella always has his rig cleaned spotless & has his trailer washed out without failure. Even after taking some home-time in Washington to see his daughter for a few days this driver still managed to crush over 12,000 miles in the month of September. I greatly enjoy having Mr. Finney on my team as he is also my Driver Mentor. He’s always happy to help any new drivers get settled into the company. I look forward to working with this driver very much as the future rolls on.

Sean Layman nominated Danny Bailey, L4012. Sean said, “Danny is everything a driver should be. Great at communication, trip planning, helping out, but most importantly having a great attitude. Danny gets his miles in with a smile on his face, and a joke to be had. Danny runs hard, stays safe, and has his head on straight.”

Keith Sally nominated Michael Furtick, L3656. Keith said, “Michael does quite well. Picks up and delivers on time. Always willing to help. In fact, when he calls in once a day, he always say’s remember if you need me just call. Great father and husband but very dedicated to his profession of over the road driver and to JCT. Been here since March 2015 and a clean slate.

Hollie Taylor nominated Loyd Heaton, L4098. Hollie said, “Loyd is an excellent driver who is always willing to help out when asked. He does an excellent job with keeping an eye out for the maintenance of the trailers. He goes above and beyond to ensure the trailers he deals with are left in excellent condition for the next driver.

From Brian Stewart’s fleet, we have nominated Brandon Hunt, L4271. Since July 1st, Brandon has helped recover 12 abandoned trucks across the country and returned them back safely to Sapulpa. Brandon going out of his way to help recover equipment shows true dedication and commitment to the success of the company. Thanks Brandon!

Sarah Whitworth nominated Michael Pearson, L4332C. Sarah said, “Michael hasn’t been with JCT that long but has already shown that he is a very safe and conscientious driver. Michael is very good with his time management which makes all his loads arrive on time and in good condition. Michael has no service failures. Most of the time he is running ahead of schedule and is quick to help with swaps for OTD or to get someone home. He told me yesterday that he did 5 different swaps last week. He is good at communicating what is going on and has a good sense of humor. His hard work, dedication to excellence and knowledge will carry him far here at JCT. Thanks Michael!!”

Gage Brooks nominated Timothy & Lisa Rutledge, L3905A. Gage said, “Tim and Lisa have been here a little over 2 months and have knocked out 56000 miles during that time. Team has always been understanding about issues that come up and are willing to help when needed.”

Ryan Smoot nominated Les Claycomb, L4045B. Ryan said, “ Les is a great driver with an even better attitude- Never complains about the loads we put on him, just ask me to keep him rolling- puts up between 640-700 miles per day on a full clock.

Tom Cowan nominated Ed Tilley, L3845. Tom said, “Ed has been at JCT since 2006. He has mentored many new drivers. He provided quality communication and trip planning. Freight is secure and safe in his hands. Thanks Ed.”

Amy Alvarez nominated Daniel Cummings, L4000B. Amye said, “He is another driver of mine that is always pleasant to deal with and willing to help when he can. I don’t know that I have ever heard him get mad about anything, he always just brushes it off and goes on. Never turns down loads, just goes where he is asked and does the best he can for JCT.

Russ Harlow nominated Ed Rice, L3936B. Russ said, “Ed has always been very helpful when moving freight and getting equipment fixed. Recently he had back to back to back trailer issues. Started to seem that he was spending more time fixing equipment, than driving. He was able to maintain composure and keep On Time Delivery on the loads throughout the month. He has really helped me out in so many ways to understand what these drivers go through on a daily basis. Ed’s determination to be successful shows and is always willing to help anyone out!”

Aloy Arcechiga said, “the Fort Worth office has decided to PLAY BALL! On Friday, October 9th ,the “JCT UNICORNS” make their Co-ed Slow-pitch Softball debut on Friday nights for the next 8 weeks!”

Cory Manzi wrote, “It’s the old shop that Blaze Equipment was using when they were tenants of ours. Andrew Copeland used some back channels to acquire the basketball goal and it was originally outside the front gate. When we moved back into our newly remodeled office in December of 2019, we had to have a place to stay warmer while taking office breaks to play knockout. It has been a staple for on and off over the course of 2020, while battling COVID, and now we can play a legit game of knockout since we have a free-throw line and some JCT graphics!
