Founded in 1994, the International School of Monaco is an independent, co-educational, not for profit day school, situated on the port Hercule in Monaco. ISM is the only fully accredited international private school in the Principality of Monaco and today caters for 680 pupils aged from 3-18, drawn from over fifty countries. In August 2020 the school signed a historic partnership with King’s College School in London, as part of the school’s aim to be among the best in Europe. Our mission at ISM is to provide an outstanding education for students so that they are confident, independent, responsible and internationally minded citizens that make a meaningful contribution to our fast-changing world. The school’s values emphasize integrity, caring, respect and learning, with clearly defined principles and expectations of its students. ISM offers a distinctive bilingual education in English and French (Classes Kindergarten to 6) and from Year 7, the Secondary School offers a broad and balanced programme, taught in English, leading to Cambridge IGCSE and the IB Diploma qualifications. The school offers both the IBDP and, from September 2020, the IBCP. Languages are an important part of the curriculum with Spanish, Italian, Russian and German, in addition to French, on offer. Highly qualified teachers and support staff are recruited from around the world.

There is an extensive programme of enrichment including sports, Model United Nations, an annual Arts Festival , the Duke of Edinburgh International Award plus ABRSM and LAMDA music and drama qualifications. The school’s unique location on the Cote d’Azur enables access to world-class museums and places of interest. There are field trips to France, Italy, Spain, Germany and Iceland, and a service trip to Vietnam for first year IB students. Excursions to the Big Bang Science Fair in the UK and CERN in Geneva support the school’s comprehensive science programme. Outreach is an important element of school life : through giving projects, environmental associations and supporting charities from Monaco and France to Africa and Vietnam. Pastoral care is a major priority for the school; an extensive PHSE programme is delivered by teachers who receive regular training in child protection and welfare, and a full time Head of Wellbeing is supported by a wellbeing team including a school counsellor. Regular workshops are offered to parents. ISM students are well-rounded, academically successful young people who are admitted to top universities in Europe, the UK and North America. Our graduates are already pursuing exciting careers in many diverse fields.
