Client Testimonials 

“Aristotle said, "Pleasure in the job puts perfection in the work." John Blom is obviously a student of Aristotle as he was the best real estate agent I ever had the pleasure of working with. Although he had to constantly battle my obsessive-compulsiveness and fixation on details, he managed to maintain a great attitude through nearly half a year of insane house-hunting. His plethora of talents include the ability to neatly pull together all appropriate details from searching through closing, an amazing aptitude for researching homes, a great baby-holder/kid-watcher and always willing to bravely lead the way into a questionably dark basement. Not to mention, he's a sharp dresser, has a charming wife, and is smart as a whip.” -Amy Johnson, Buyer 2011 “We worked with John Blom on buying our first home in Vancouver, Washington. We met him at an open house and he took the time to work with us over the course of about a year (off and on as we were unsure about the timing of the market). He helped us decide what neighborhoods we wanted to target for our first home as a newly married couple. He was knowledgeable, responsive, offered great information on the various areas and when we did make an offer he was there for every step of the way. We appreciated that he wasn't "cheesy" and that he was a truly nice, intelligent person to work with” -Jennifer Wilkerson, Buyer 2010 “John is an outstanding real estate agent! I have worked with him on several occasions and he goes above and beyond for his clients. John is especially helpful on bank owned homes, as he was able to get the extension I needed to finish the loan closing. I would highly recommend John!” -Jessie Guinn, Loan Officer

My Responsibility to You State agency law and the REALTOR code of ethics provide a guideline for my responsibility to you: 

Honesty

Loyalty

Communication

Buying a home involves a certain amount of financial risk…I work to insure my clients do not incur any unexpected financial burdens.

Finding Your Home As a member of the RMLS, I have access to every listing from every company in the Portland metro area and Vancouver. I set up an automated search so every time a new home comes on the market that would fit your needs, I get an alert.

Working exclusively with one agent is the best way to find your new home – they are committed and invested in finding a property that suits your needs and helping guide you through the process.

Writing the Offer Once we’ve found the right home for you, I provide all the relevant information you need when deciding on your initial offer. 

Recent Comparable Sales

Listing History

Tax Information

Past Sale Data

HOA feeds

Covenants, Conditions, and Restrictions

Zoning and School Data

With so much information available to consumers today, my goal is to help buyers sort through the data to find out what’s actually important and what has the greatest impact on the value of future home.

Negotiating the Sale Once your offer is submitted, I will work hard to negotiate a deal that is acceptable to you. The art of negotiations involves understanding the motivation of both parties to reach an agreement that is acceptable to both the buyer and the seller.

My experience with closing over 50 real estate transactions in the last two years helps me negotiate on my clients behalf, so that their money is wisely invested in their home.

Communication After we reached an agreement with the sellers, I guide my buyers through the closing process, keeping them aware of any deadlines we have to met and letting them know what the next step is along the way. Contract to Escrow Full Loan Application Home Inspection
