“Beyond Our Control: Debunking Manmade Global Warming” by Howard Lowe. Please see link above for information about the book,

Howard Lowe studied engineering and geology. During WW II he served in the Navy in the Atlantic and Pacific. He was active in the petroleum industry for 60 years. Since retirement he is devoting time to study of energy and climate change. He is a member of the climate change research group, The Right Climate Stuff. This book is very interesting reading for everyone. Some chapters are: Planet Earth, Climatic Changes – physical causes. Mass Extinctions. The Ice Ages. Cenozoic Epochs. Early Holocene. Early Cultures. Collapse of Notable Civilizations up to 1600 AD. Climate Stories from Antiquity. The Little Ice Age and Beyond. The book concludes, based on empirical evidence, the Earth’s climate is controlled by naturally occurring events and operates in cycles. Over the Earth’s life there have been five major mass extinctions. All have been the result of climatic disturbances – volcanism, meteor strikes, and the variation of the Earth’s natural cycles. Geological evidence makes it possible to reconstruct climate during various geological periods. Archaeological sites record the decline and fall of civilizations, and often possible to reconstruct circumstances leading to their collapse. Global climatic events are usually broad regional events, and not worldwide. Drought is one of the greatest catastrophic impacts on humans and animals. However, the complexities involved in the phenomena are poorly understood. Desertification is a historic phenomena formed by natural forces over a long period of time. Man’s activities have nothing to do with the process. Climate modeling has created a climate debate unto itself. Models must cope with many feedbacks; some are - clouds, ozone, ocean currents, and sea ice. Today’s models are not reliable because the effects of the previously listed feedbacks are poorly understood. Lastly, human population can do a great deal to improve the environment; however, their impact on climate change is minuscule. 1
