Johanna Marcella Rosero Interior Design Portfolio

Johanna Marcella Rosero My love for design bloomed at a very young age. I was constantly getting in trouble for rearranging the house, but there was something in me that loved walking into a room and it be different every time. I always had a desire that things had to be placed in creative ways. Time proved that this love for design was true. I grew up and went to Aviation High school and found it very interesting working hands-on airplanes But I didn’t see my future in mechanics. Although I didn’t want to do Aircraft maintenance and mechanics I did find what interested me and it was the technical drawings. My tech draw teacher introduced me to Architecture, and I quickly fell in love with structural design. I was so interested that my professor signed me and few other students to audition for a position in Architecture program at Cooper Union. I quickly got accepted and fell head over heels for this world. During this experience I was exposed to all the branches in Architecture and Interior Design was one that caught my eye and where I felt most excited in exploring. As soon as I graduated high school I went into N.Y.I.T. where I began my studies in design. After a year of hard work, I transferred to The Art Institute where my knowledge has broaden and desire to explore design more in depth has arose. I’ve taken this desire to a very tangible level and applied to volunteer for an Outdoor/Construction program in Thailand, in which changed my life dramatically. I soon understood the passion it takes to build piece by piece a structure. Also the rewarding feeling you get when you see the end results and the families appreciation. Both inside and out, I look forward to graduation and very excited for what my future in design beholds.

Peter Greenaway is a successful film director, writer and painter, fascinated in all art aspects and heavily influenced by theories of structural llinguistics, architecture, ethnography, and philosophy. Peter recently renovated his home adding a new library or as he would say “a space to recollect and replicate ideas Peter would like to combine both historical and contemporary designs creating a very intiate connection between them but not so evident. Minimalism is essential allowing him to experience every detail or object in the space.

Jim Johnson Jim is 40 years old, and is 6 ft 10in tall. Jim is a retired professional volleyball player. Currently working as a sportscaster, and writer covering the sport he loves. This apartment is a second home for him in the Los Angeles area for when he is covering events in town. Jim has a large wardrobe of suits he keeps here for work. He sees the challenge of this project being designing for an extremely tall man in an extremely tight space. Jim also has some trophies and some old sports photos of himself that his wife has ordered out of their house, so it is here that they have found a home. Jim is intrigued by spaces and furniture items that can transform to serve different purposes. He sees the potential for pull down beds to work to his advantage in such a small space.

Chapter Five SOFITEL HOTEL Location: New York Project Type: Installation Concept: Holiday Decorations

The Sofitel reflects the French Art Deco period with its modular scheme as it repeats the geometric shapes throughout. Translating the already existing art movemetn motifs, this design concepts combines modular pices to form holiday elements including a tree, a wreath, entrance arch and a table display. The craftsmanship consists of using various diameters of Sono tubes to create cylindrical modular shapes. The cylinders are then painted and wrapped with fabics in white and siver tones. Once the modules are complete, they are used to form sculptural pieces throughout the space. Flat LED rope lights are used to outline and illuminate the designs. The elements selected colaborate together to compliment the space and establish a modern and edgy vision. The idea is simple, to take unconventional high/ low materials and bring the together to create something unforeseen.
