Gideon Family Mission Issue 19 | March 2013
Seek 2013 guides, inspires I invited my brothers Joey and Justin to attend Seek 2013 this year. Joey had this to share: This year’s national conference asked its audience of over 6,000 Catholics: What moves you? For me, it was seeing so many young men and women sincerely and fully embracing their faith. Students lined up for what seemed like miles for Reconciliation. Priests, deacons and monks filled
the halls. Everyone left the conference closer to God and prepared to play a more spiritually active role on their campus. It gave me hope. We didn’t have FOCUS when I was at OU, so it meant everything to know they were making such an impact on my alma mater. You could actually see the transformations taking place in the students. For them, it wasn’t about getting away. It was about
finding their faith, taking Withit back to their college out your and committing to leadfinancial ing a better Catholic life. support of Our brother Justin now Joshua, we wouldn’t have knows he “Without your financial been able to will have support of Joshua, we attend this the spiritual wouldn’t have been able conference. support and I know he to attend this conference.” preparaapprecition the moment he steps ates your generosity onto campus as a Sooner and prayers, along with this fall. ◆ Thank you again for all you do for our family and the mission of FOCUS.
I hope you will take a brief second to view the back of the newsletter and pray about how you can help even more as we continue on our path.

“As for me and my family, we will serve the Lord...”
nurturing and nesting We are ‘patiently’ awaiting baby #6… only 4 days late so far! I think with every child we are more anxious to hold the baby in our arms (not sure boy/girl ) and see the miracle of life. What will he/she look like (hopefully like Joshua)? Weight (hopefully less than 10 lbs!)? As I pray for this arrival, I can’t help but reflect on God’s plan for our lives, the great love and sometimes, the challenges that stretch us. Recently, there have been several families close to us who have gone through some really rough times. Most recently, a former FOCUS
employee’s wife died unexpectedly as a result of a stroke. They have 5 children ranging in ages from 7 to 4 months. I know that God will give us every grace necessary to love Him in even the most difficult circumstances. It has been proven in my own life. At times, I have seen in a hardship, the one going through the tragedies are the ones uplifting those around them. This is true for each of our friends. They have responded to the graces that God is showering upon them. All drew together in prayer, love and support and as a result have been a tremendous witness to
the gift of life. It reminds us to take a step back, smile more, and tell those around us how much we love them. Each of your prayers and petitions are close to our hearts. We pray for you often and hope that in all things we will continue to sing God’s praises in our daily lives. Please keep us in your prayers as we await baby #6. Let us together, as Lent continues, remember that we have all been blessed to know God’s love and receive the Gospel. We pray that many more can receive this message and embrace it.
