Who are you? My name is martin and come from a small town in Jutland named Ryomgård. I’m a Eurovision song contest fan and i follow the Danish and foreign Grand Prix closely. I kill time with various games, movies, etc. I suffer from “Evasive personality disorder” which means that I have difficulty in intimate and stressful situations in everyday life. What makes you feel that you have a fox’s soul? It is a strong feeling that can occur in a human. “A missing piece in the puzzle of consciousness.” Individuals may have in their lives experienced the phenomenon of a “phantom-limb.” The feeling or sense of a body part which is not physically present. There are people who are strongly convinced that they have felt their tail, ears and coat. Although I have experienced feeling my tail. It is many years ago now, Unfortunately it was a short experience that was very new to me. I was very young when it happened and did not know what I know today. The Furry subculture is a fandom for fictional animal characters with human characteristics and personalities. The subculture can be found in art, literature, crafts, music and film among others. People involved in the fandom gathers on the Internet and at conventions. “Furries” both covers people who mainly uses furry fandom to socialize and share common interests in the fandom and people who see themselves as other than human.

How did you know that it was a fox and not another animal? It came to me. Completely and utterly spontaneous. I have not questioned it since.

CONTINUED How did you first realize that you had a fox’s soul? It was very spontaneous, I had stumbled onto a pair of “furry” drawings on the Internet. A fierce curiosity was aroused in me. I had to know more about these “Furries.” So I asked around in Guild Wars (online game) if anyone knew about furries. I was contacted by a guy who knew much of the subject and also identified him self with a non human being. He was willing to explain what this whole Sub-culture consisted of. I was undoubtedly young and naive at that time but I felt still incredibly attracted. my new “friend” explained how he had realized that his soul was not human. My head was full of a thousand thoughts and reflections about all the new and exciting information I got. There was a transformation of my identity. The missing piece was in place. there was a groundbreaking change in my self-image.

How does it feel to have a fox inside? not much else to say than that it feels normal and pleasant. If you expect me running around on all four for legs everyday, you will probably be badly disappointed. im still living in a human society and i cant just abandon humansociety cause where would i go then? my body still belongs to the race of homo sapiens. What does your closest family and friends think of this? The first in my family that i told about it was my sister. It can be incredibly complicated for us furries, telling friends and family about our identity, because of the taboo. It can be difficult to get people to understanding what it is you are telling them. My mother. She just think that I “really like foxes.” My father knows nothing about my situation as far as I know. I feel no urge to go into detail. Most of my close friends know about my situation, they took it surprisingly well. It’s about how open people are. If there is shut off from the start, then you may as well give up.

Do you know of others in the same situation as you? Due to my personal problems. I havent had so much contact to other furries. There are many of us around the world. Here in Denmark we are also a bunch. Websites like dkfurs.dk allow furries to contact each other. Many furries meet for so-called “Furmeets”. A furmeet is a gathering of equal souls. Not all furries are like me. Not all feel that they have animal souls. Many just likes to dress up as animals behave like animals and drawing animals. Once I get my own apartment, I’ll be more active in Danish furmeets. Are there some things that make you different from others? you get disappointed if you expect that I act like an animal all the time, but I am very relaxed towards myself on that point. So if the situation is favorable, I sometimes bark a little or crawl on all four legs. How do foxes behave towards you? as they behave towards other people. Although I myself feel more like fox than human, i will always be human flesh and blood.

If you could choose between being a fox and man what would you choose? It’s a tough question. There are very many things in this life as I would find it difficult to renounce. Earlier I have longed to be fox, but over time I have been happy with being human. But if I had to start from scratch I would undoubtedly choose to be a fox. Can you communicate with other foxes? no Have you had any experiences that made you even more sure you have a fox’s heart? I have felt my tail. It was very convincing. I feel very comfortable about the fox. Here where I live, we see lots of them and even have a bunch who comes to visit at night if we leave food for them. What is your biggest dream? My biggest dream has for years been to become an actor, move in with my love in the U.S. and establish a stable and healthy family life. What is your worst nightmare? My worst nightmare is just to be unable to get out of this depressive state. Im already put a lot back because it.
