WORK EXPERIENCE

Virginia Tech | Blacksburg, VA Graduate Research Assistant, August 2016 - Present Part-time graduate assistantship under John Browder, Ph.D. Research topics included restoration ecology and post-industrial city planning, focused in Baltimore, MD. Provided research and graphic illustrations to support Browder’s in-progress textbook entitled, The Re-Enlivened City. Dr. Browder is a professor of urban affairs and planning at Virginia Tech. Richard Mandell Golf Architecture | Pinehurst, NC Intern and Interim Design Associate, May 2016 - August 2016 Full-time internship assisting with the completion of RFP and bid processes, design representation, construction documentation, construction oversight and management for both new and existing golf projects, as well as web design. Projects included design of new golf complexes as well as renovations of existing golf courses and facilities. Community Design Assistance Center (CDAC) | Blacksburg, VA Student Landscape Designer, May 2015 - February 2016; October 2016 - Present Full and part-time work completing two design projects as well as completing final reports for multiple other projects. Projects included elements of streetscapes, trailheads, and downtown public space designs. Gained experience in community design and engagement process as well as presenting design work to clients and community members. Natural Enhancement | Harrisonburg, VA Designer and Laborer, 2013 - 2015 Full and part-time work designing and installing residential and commercial landscapes. Projects included patios, drainage systems, pedestrian paths, retaining walls, irrigation, lighting, and planting.
