Wildcat Club 2013-2014 Alcott College Prep is a public neighborhood school located in northern Lincoln Park. Alcott’s mission: We seek to provide a cohesive curriculum with an extensive focus on literature and writing that meets the needs of all students (including English language learners, multiple intelligences and individual learning styles, special needs and gifted students) while honoring cultural diversity. We will provide hands on engaged learning, innovative approaches, fine arts, foreign language integration, and reduced class sizes with parental involvement.

Within the Wildcat Club After School Program, Alcott College Prep and Youth Guidance, a non-profit organization, work collaboratively to foster the development of a vibrant community of learners at Alcott College Prep. Our programs create opportunities in four core content areas closely aligned with State & Federal learning standards. Youth Guidance builds partnerships in areas of Academic Achievement, Arts & Culture, Social & Emotional Skills, and Health & Wellness.

After School Staff is comprised of committed, caring individuals dedicated to ensuring that each child has a positive, safe, and fun afterschool experience. All have experience in childcare and activity supervision, and activity instructors are trained in their specialties. Staff members work closely with regular school day staff to ensure consistency of expectations, academic focus, and behavior. All staff members undergo a thorough background check with DCFS. The Wildcat Club Summer Camp, located at Alcott College Prep uses its facilities, including the gym, outdoor playground and field, auditorium, cafeteria, library, and classrooms within the building during the summer. Classroom Size Wildcat Club maintains effective staff to student ratios in our after school classrooms. In order to ensure quality, we will be capping the number of student participants in each grade during Wildcat Club. We will also be capping the number of drop-in participants per grade. Should the need be great, and our waitlist reaches 10 students or more in a given grade, we will add additional classes as long as we are still able to accommodate space and staffing needs. Space is at a premium within Alcott during afterschool and there is no guarantee we will be able to add additional classes. Register early to ensure your spot! Pick-Up • Enter through the main doors off of Orchard. • Present yourself and your ID to the front desk attendant. • Sign your student out. • Your student will be called down or you may visit your child’s afterschool room after check-out. • Should you be sending someone who was not previously indicated as an approved pick-up, please notify the program in advance in writing. Individuals who are not on your approval

list nor previously indicated on a permission note will not be allowed to pick up your student from Wildcat Club. PLEASE NOTE: once a student has been signed out, they may NOT return to the program. Should you have a middle school student to whom you wish to give permission to sign out to be with friends, Wildcat Club suggests they be released during part-time pick-up at 4:45pm. This will allow adequate time for homework and snack. Students must then leave the premises.
