Coach Celia Dubey Get to vs Got to?
Do you “get to” train or do you “got to” go train? Think about it…. Do you “get to” go for a run or do you “got to” go for a run? Do you “get to” go to the store or do you “got to” go to the store? Do you “get to” eat a healthy meal or do you “got to” eat a healthy meal? I know it’s not proper English but you know what I mean. What is your mindset? To be appreciative of the ability to do even the most common tasks makes any task more enjoyable. To be healthy and able to train and live an active life is a gift. To have the resources to get in your car, drive to the store, and make purchases is something to be grateful for. To have the freedom to do any activity you wish to do is to be appreciated. To have the peace of mind to be able to walk out into a safe environment is not to be taken for granted. How do you think residents of Kuwait feel? So do you feel you “get to” go train with anticipation of the enjoyment of training or do you feel you “got to” go train as if it were an obligation?
