AN EVENING OF THE BLUES TO RAISE THE ROOF! - Friday, June 17 McDougall United Church This is a benefit concert to raise funds for a new roof at McDougall church. JACK SEMPLE is an awardwinning guitarist, singer, composer and recording artist.
We’re happy to have you worshipping with us. There is a Welcome Book for you to sign on the table at the back of the sanctuary. We invite you to come downstairs for refreshments as well.

BOOK GROUP Wednesday, May 25, 7 p.m. Norwood Room Book Group will meet and to discuss Homer & Langley by E. L. Doctorow - a historical canvas, imagining the Collyer brothers as witness to the aspirations and transgressions of twentieth-century America.
LAST DAY OF SUNDAY SCHOOL Sunday, May 29 The youngest members of the congregation will be celebrating the last day of Sunday School for the term, which will conclude with a great party and spring farewell. Please plan to have your children here so they can take part in the fun!
CELEBRATION OF MINISTRY Alberta and Northwest Conference United Church of Canada - Sunday, May 29, 10:30 a.m. at Heritage Amphitheatre, Hawrelak Park This annual celebration is a highlight of the church year and honours those who are being ordained, admitted to the Order of Ministry, beginning new ministries and retiring from active ministry. After the service you are invited to join in a potluck picnic lunch in the park. Bring lawn chairs, dishes and cutlery and food to share. ALL ARE INVITED. MUSIC FROM AROUND THE WORLD Edmonton Vocal Minority Sunday, May 29 - 1:30 p.m. - Free McDougall United Church Edmonton Vocal Minority celebrates diversity with a musical journey from around the world, including Bollywood, African-American spirituals, native North American chant, and traditional Senegal blessings. Conducted by Paula Roberts, accompanied by Brad Heintzman. Join AFFIRM MCDOUGALL on Sunday, May 29 for a noon lunch in the Banner Room before the concert and for refreshments following - by donation. Proceeds are being donated to Camp fYrefly, a camp that teaches leadership and resiliency skills to sexual minority and straight youth.

NEWS FROM SLAVE LAKE St. Peter==s Ecumenical Church (A Shared Ministry Congregation: Anglican, Lutheran, United) with Minister, Rev. Leigh Sinclair We pray for our sisters and brothers who live in and around Slave Lake, and the pastoral care needs of those who have been displaced. The congregations in Athabasca are being a source of great support. So far, the church building is safe, but every member of the congregation has lost their home.
The Church office will be closed, Monday, May 23 for the Victoria Day holiday.
TO ........ Our sandwich-makers for the Bissell Centre last Saturday: Cheryl Bauer, Joanne Brix, Viola Bruggeman, Mae Deans, Peter Tinning, Diane Zinyk and co-ordinator, Gwen May. Your time and energy for this outreach project is much appreciated by us and all those whom we serve. THANK YOU also to Norm Morris who delivers the sandwiches each time on his regular weekly run to the Bissell Centre. Norm has been taking our donations to the Bissell Centre for more years than anyone can remember, so we especially thank him for this ministry.

We are always glad to see Jack Cunningham and Pam Taylor when they can come.
