The built fabric is composed by the existing industrial heritage, the fine grain diversity of Marrickville and the surrounding green space infrastructure to ground and inspire the new development, and provide physical and cultural continuity on the site. Emergency situations: Hospitals solutions post-catastrophe Date: 2012 Phase: Master Thesis
War, social emergency, natural disaster are all unplanned circumstances but this doesn’t mean that we have to be unprepared. Governments and NG0s are well aware of this and now a days many different mechanisms are available. Even if the resources and technology is key in success, the most relevant and critical process is preparation.
The thesis works around the idea of injecting all the required by revisiting the constructed environment and reusing/altering/modifying or demolishing parts of it to create a new social mix able to absorve the changing habits and needs of the population.
This thesis runs accross the different methods of emergency hospitalisation from the reasons that trigger the emergency to the different types of solutions.
Thank you!
