What is Tele-MOVE!? A weight loss program using health technology. For Veterans who are ready to work on losing weight and meet the criteria listed below. Enrollment Criteria: Body mass index indicating overweight or obesity Have a VA primary care provider Landline phone service (Internet access may work in some situations)
How the Program Works: The Tele-MOVE! Program uses an in-home messaging device and a scale to check your weight weekly. This equipment will be provided to you for your time in the program. The in-home messaging device uses a series of questions, statements, goal monitoring and education to help Veterans achieve their weight loss goals.
The Tele-MOVE! Program Provides: Daily communication and education sessions. Guidance for healthy lifestyle changes in activity, nutrition, and behavior.
Your daily information will be monitored by a qualified health professional, such as a dietitian or registered nurse.
Stable electrical source Able to use technology Able to complete daily sessions Not in another VA Telehealth program.
Help to identify barriers to meeting weight loss goals. Ongoing support. Educational materials to support learning and behavior change.
