Rub-A-Dub-Dub... Beginnings....by design I have always looked at the world differently. Growing up in the rural South, I learned to see the cup half full instead of half empty. Being surrounded by a large family of brothers, sisters and relatives makes you grateful for what you can get. In the Navy, working as an Operations Specialist, I searched for details in the form of small blips on a radar screen. Commissioned to problem solve backwards, I daily practiced the art of mirror writing on a plexiglass chart aboard a fast frigate. I learned to work effectively on teams and get along with all types of people. I discovered that I work better under pressure and developed the global thinking essential in our interconnected world. The job required that I be flexible and adaptive to deliver quality work on time and as requested. Lucky for me, designers need to think differently too. I get inspired at the least expected moments. I sometimes process ideas through daydreams or distractive thoughts by visually seeing shapes, colors and images flowing from my mind. If I fail, you can be sure I will get up and try it again for as long as it takes to get the right idea across. Working, sometimes when others sleep, I live beyond limits and boundaries. Where others see difficulty I label it opportunity. Truly following my heart and imagination I will take tasks without fear, always looking for that opportunity to shine in the darkness. By design, my point of view is shaped from a different perspective than most and I am good with that.
