FURNITURE DESIGN.

STUDIO OPERATIONS

As a designer I have kept a studio practice. Particularily, furniture design and fabrication. I try to recycle material and use ‘cast-off’ materials without making concessions towards the design or quality of finish. These are a few samples of past works.

BIOAfter serving in the United States Marine Corps for four years, during the first Gulf I was confronted by the question: What next? I stood as a disiplined young man with curiosity and respect for the cultural I had returned to. Finding myself drawn towards art and design I put together a body of works and submitted to Otis College of Art. I spent four years there in studio culture studying both art and design with an emphesis on architecture. I began building my own furniture which expanded into client relationships and suplemented my tuition. I recieved honors at Otis and was encouraged to attend grad school for architecture. I then spent the next three years in the grad program at SciArc. I continued my studio practice as a furniture designer and fabricator and began to work as a consultant in offices. This soon evolved into full time employment as a designer and soon project manager. I am currently persuing my liscensure and maintian my (home) studio. Part of that studio includes the restoration of vintage and custom built motorcycles. My wife, a painter, both teach at Woodbury University and live together in Long Beach. I grew up in southern california and have been surfing since age ten and enjoy the occasional skate park.
