What is sustainability for the developing world? What is sustainability for Lebanon? These were the leading questions for this year-long project based in Lebanon in 2009 - 2010. The explosion of the "green building" movement is creating a new relationship with our natural and built environment. This trend deserves a fresh look, especially in the context of emerging cities of the Middle East. This yearlong exploration looks at the green movement as a practice, an identity and as a lifestyle within the borders of Lebanon. This exhaustive compilation brings together the images and voices of Lebanon's current state of sustainability. Through the use of interviews, student course work, site documentation and cultural, regional, national and government events and activities this project seeks to expose the processes, tools and technologies impacting Lebanon's current state of sustainability.
