DINNER 7:00 P.M. Greater Richmond Convention Center

DINNER OVERVIEW The Junior League of Richmond (JLR) will welcome six national authors to Richmond for its 69h Book & Author Dinner, the longest running event of its kind in the country. The dinner features a diverse panel of authors who discuss their new books while entertaining the audience with literary wit and wisdom. Authors throughout the event’s history have included Robert Frost, James Dickey, Irving Stone, Mary Higgins Clarke, Rita Dove, Christopher Buckley, David Balducci, Tom Friedman, Alice McDermott, James Sawnson, Matthew Pearl, Adriana Trigiani and Eben Alexander. Guests will have the opportunity to purchase first edition books and meet the authors while having their books autographed following the dinner. Nearly 1,000 guests attended last year’s event.

LUNCHEON The Book & Author Luncheon, to be held on April 30th at the Country Club of Virginia, offers guests the opportunity to dine with an author at their table and to have their books autographed. Seating is limited to approximately 75 guests.

EVENT IMPACT The Book & Author Event offers sponsors a variety of opportunities to interact with bestselling authors, League members, and the Richmond community. Last year’s event raised over $56,000 to assist the League in its mission to promote volunteerism, develop the potential of women, and improve communities through effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Community programming is delivered with a focus on the East End of Richmond and supports health & wellness, character development and family engagement.
