A LETTER FROM OUR PRESIDENT Dear Valued Community Partner, THANK YOU for taking the time to learn how you can support the Junior League of Lake Charles, Inc. through our Partnership Opportunities. Our members have been improving the lives of children and families in SWLA for over 85 years and hope you will help us continue! The Junior League of Lake Charles, Inc.(JLLC) has been a vital part of Southwest Louisiana since 1933. We are a group of more than 600 motivated, educated, and civicminded women who are committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving the community. Each year the JLLC volunteers thousands of hours and mobilizes even more dollars through valuable community programs. Our legacy programs include Family and Youth Counseling Agency, Harbour House, Children’s Museum, Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), and more. Current JLLC programs focus on literacy, leadership development, and healthy families. We also award over $20,000 in teacher grants and college scholarships a year. We invite you to partner with the Junior League of Lake Charles to continue building a better community. Please take a moment to review our Partnership Opportunities, which include event sponsorship for our three major fundraisers, corporate JLLC sponsorship, and other ways to support the JLLC. If you have questions or would like to discuss these opportunities further, please reach out to Ashley Rudd, 2019-2020 Donor Relations Chair, at donor_relations@jllc.net. Thank you for your time and consideration. We look forward to partnering with you to be a catalyst for change in our community. Sincerely,

Shellie Shetler Eskew 2019-2020 President JUNIOR LEAGUE OF

Truck Fest Sponsorship

Children love to explore and investigate, and unrestricted play is essential for healthy, cognitive development. At Truck Fest, children and families receive an exceptional hands-on experience, with vehicles of all types - construction, public service, emergency, utility, landscaping, transportation, delivery and more. Children are able to interact with their favorite vehicles, learn about the importance of safety, and meet the men and women who serve and protect our communities. The Silent Hour gives children who are sensitive to noise a chance to enjoy the event in a lower-stress setting. Kid-friendly activities, face painting, and delicious food make this event a perfect outing for the entire family!

JLLC Corporate Champion Circle The Corporate Champion Circle is not tied to a specific JLLC fundraising event. Instead, it is an opportunity for businesses to receive recognition as donors to our annual fund. The Junior League of Lake Charles was originally founded in 1933 as the Junior Welfare League of Lake Charles. Over those 86 years, JLLC has been a positive force for change in Southwest Louisiana. Our legacy lives in programs like the Imperial Calcasieu Museum, the Lake Charles Symphony, the Black Heritage Gallery, the Children’s Museum and more. Our future lies in training and empowering our current members to become trained volunteers who can offer their knowledge and skills in other parts of the community. An investment in our current projects and members is an investment in the future of Lake Charles.

Other Ways to Support JLLC Sponsor A JLLC General Membership Meeting $1,500

JLLC General Membership Meetings are held the first Tuesday of every month from August through May. Active and Provisional members attend these meetings to discuss community projects, fundraising events, and membership information. The meeting begins with a 30 minute social period. During that time members sign in, visit exhibit tables, and get seated for the dinner meeting. This sponsorship will allow a company direct access to our membership during one of these general membership meetings. Sponsors will have the opportunity to set up an exhibit table for members to visit. We will also project the sponsor’s logo in the meeting area prior to the meeting. Sponsors will also receive acknowledgment and a brief speaking time slot at the beginning of the meeting.

Sponsor a Branch Out and Grow Grant $2,500

The Junior League of Lake Charles Branch Out and Grow educational grant program supports excellence in teaching by awarding grants for innovative projects that otherwise would not be provided for in program budgets and which fit within the JLLC’s vision of supporting a more confident, healthy, and educated community. During the 2018-2019 year, the JLLC awarded nearly $17,000 in grants and impacted about 4,000 children in SWLA. We invite you to partner with the JLLC to make these grants possible.

Truck Fest Handy Helper $100

This is a unique opportunity to help children in our community. With just $100, you can sponsor admission for one classroom or student group of up to 25 local children who might not otherwise have the opportunity to attend. You may select the class to be sponsored, or allow JLLC to select a group based on need, geographic location, and transportation. The Junior League of Lake Charles will not provide the transportation. Handy Helpers will receive social media recognition through the JLLC Facebook page.

Mistletoe & Moss Food Donation

Crowds are drawn to Mistletoe & Moss year after year because of our quality merchants. Through our tradition of treating our merchants well, we’ve been able to fill the Lake Charles Civic Center with unique and popular vendors from around the country despite the competition of other holiday markets. Providing wonderful meals and snacks from SWLA restaurants allows us to keep our merchants coming back year after year. Our southern hospitality and delicious food sets us apart from everyone else! Mistletoe & Moss also hosts an array of special events during the holiday market weekend. These events often require some sort of meal or food offering. Please let know if you are interested in providing a meal or food item during Mistletoe & Moss. We’d love to have your support during this community tradition.

Casino Night Auction Item Donation

Auction donors and bidders are critical to the Casino Night’s fundraising success. Auction items are greatly appreciated and welcome! The JLLC is looking for silent auction items. Popular items always include weekend getaways, hunting/fishing trips, dinner parties, and other fun experiences. Please let us know if you have an item to donate or would like to discuss possibilities to contribute to the auction’s success.

Truck Fest Participant

The Junior League of Lake Charles’ newest community event, Truck Fest, is made possible by our generous community participants. These participants bring everything that beeps, honks, and vrooms - everything that makes it TRUCK Fest! Children from all around SWLA love to get up close and personal with these vehicles and those who operate them. Past years’ participants have included motorcycles, boats, construction equipment, moving trucks, and so much more. Community businesses also have the opportunity to exhibit during Truck Fest. JLLC sets up a booth offering free books to attendees to continue our focus on literacy through this event. Even if you don’t have something that “goes”. No event is complete without food. We welcome food trucks and vendors to provide tasty treats for Truck Fest visitors. We invite you to participate in this unique community event.
