LET US PRAY WITH YOU!  Anytime day or night, go to, click  PRAYER REQUESTS, type in  your prayer, press send.   That’s how simple it is to have  our prayer team joining in  agreement with you for your  lives, families, finances, ca‐ reers, relationships, self‐ esteem, spiritual growth and  so much more!

Self‐Examination & Prayer!  By Irish Tucker  These two concepts fit together like hand in glove . . .   “FOR IF ANYONE IS A HEARER OF THE WORD AND NOT A DOER, HE IS LIKE A  MAN OBSERVING HIS NATURAL FACE IN A MIRROR; FOR HE OBSERVES HIM‐ SELF, GOES AWAY, AND IMMEDIATELY FORGETS WHAT KIND OF MAN HE  WAS.”  JAMES 1:23‐24   Summer is here!  It’s easy to get consumed with new summer clothing, short and sassy  hair cuts, summer tans, manicures and don't forget pedicures for our feet, for those cute  sandals! Is this all that it takes to become ready for summer?  Well, once care has been given for our ‘outer’ man, what are we doing to take care of our  ‘inner’ person?  It’s time for self‐examination.  My friends there’s light at the end of the tunnel.  Examining ourselves doesn't mean we are  bad people it’s a healthy spiritual discipline that helps us to do a spiritual tone up regu‐ larly. If we become people who justify our faults, we will be just like the person who looked  in the mirror, saw their faults, and then walked away doing nothing about them (James  1:24).  Remember, as long as we are "in the flesh" we will be under the temptation to sin, but we  must become people who practice repentance asking God for help in fighting our carnal  ‘fleshly’ desires.   Prayer is  one of the greatest privileges available to all Christians because it is the way  that we self‐examine properly! Our loving Father is waiting to hear from us.  REFLECTION AND JOURNALING:  Read each one of these scriptures, then write  what they mean to you and discuss with the Lord what He may be requiring you  to do.  Psalm 19:12 says, “How can I know all the sins lurking in my heart? Cleanse me  from these hidden faults.”  ____________________________________________________________________________

PRAYING THE SCRIPTURES  If you are a person who deals  with anger, read on.  Here’s a  prayer strategy to help you  deal with anger whenever it  rears its ugly head!  Anger has to be removed,  pray these scriptures:  “But now you must rid your‐ selves of all such things as  these: anger, rage, malice,  slander, and filthy language  from your lips.” Colossians  3:8  “Get rid of all bitterness, rage  and anger, brawling and  slander, along with every  form of malice.  Be kind and  compassionate to one an‐ other, forgiving each other,  just as Christ God forgave  you.”  Ephesians 4:31‐32

Simply pray that the Lord  will help you to rid yourself  of any destructive anger and  behavior that is unsuited for  a believer in Christ.  Know  that God will immediately  step in to help you!

The  Key To Everything!

By  Langston Hughes

By Jennifer Kennedy‐Dean

I dream a world where man

No other man will scorn,  Where love will bless the earth

And peace its paths adorn.  I dream a world where all   Will know sweet freedom’s way,  Where greed no longer saps the soul

PRAYER IS THE KEY that unlocks all of the treasures of the Kingdom of God. It is a key that He has placed in your hand and invites you to use. Prayer is the conduit through which all the power and provision of God flows.

Nor avarice blights our day.  A world where black or white,

One of the questions people often have about prayer is: “If God knows what I need, why do I need to ask Him for it?” Jesus tells us in Matthew 6 that we do not need to worry about things because the Father knows everything we need (Matt. 6:31-32). He says in Matthew 6:8, “Your Father knows what you need before you ask him.” Yet, He teaches us to pray, “Give us today our daily bread” (Matt. 6:9). He states the need to ask in even stronger terms when He says, “Ask and it will be given to you” (Matt. 7:7). Don’t you find that interesting?

Whatever race you be,   Will share the bounties of the earth  And every man is free,   Where wretchedness  will hang its  head

Jesus assures us that God knows everything we need, yet tells us to And joy, like a pearl ,

ask Him for it. Consider why God has set things up so that prayer releases into our lives what He knows we need and wants to give us. (continued pg 4)

Attends the needs of all mankind—         Of such I dream, my world!

Dreaming Of Our Glorious Future  By Deborah Mobley  Langston Hughes' poem encourages me to dream, to envision  "a new heaven and a  new earth" (Revelation 21:1 NKJV), a place where "God will wipe away every tear  from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be  no more pain, for the former things have passed away" (Revelation 21:4  NKJV).  I dream of this new world where "the sufferings of this present time are not  worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us" (Romans 8:18  NKJV).  Can you imagine a  a city "that has no temple in it, for the Lord God Almighty  and the Lamb are its temple" (Revelations 21:22)? I long to see the city that "has no  need of the sun or the moon to shine in it, for the glory of God illuminated it. The  Lamb is its light" (Revelations 21:23). I dream about "a new heaven and a new  earth.” I am excited, aren’t you?

Prayer: The Key To Everything! (con’t)  “Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe  that you receive them and you will have them.” Mark 11:24 (NKJV)  God Wants Our Hearts It’s simple for God to meet your needs. Everything in the universe is His. Everything is at His command. The story is told of a woman who said rather self-righteously to her pastor, “Pastor, I never bother God with the little things.” To which her pastor answered, “Madam, He’s God. To Him, it’s all little.” It would be easy for God to do for you and provide for you everything you need without waiting for you to ask. But that is not how

PRAYING THE SCRIPTURES  If you are a person who deals  with anger, read on.  Here  are scriptures to help you  deal with anger whenever it  rears its ugly head!

He has structured it. God loves you and desires to live in intimacy with you. Prayer is more than the words you say that come sandwiched between “Dear God” and “Amen.” Prayer is an openness to and awareness of His presence and His power in your life. He wants full possession of your heart. He wants you to live in the experience of His love for you. Imagine what it might be like if God met your needs without engaging you in the process. You would never recognize His provision. It would seem to you to be coincidence or “just the way things are.” But because you have the privilege of seeing Him meet your needs in response to prayer, you experience Him. You see how He provides for you even in the smallest details. You learn that a life lived prayerfully is a life lived beyond your limits. In asking, you are recognizing the Source of everything. “Don’t be deceived, my dear brothers. Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows” (James 1:16-18). God tells you to ask for what you need because this interaction keeps you aware that no matter what avenue of supply He chooses to make use of, He is the source. Sometimes God is waiting for you to ask because until you see your need, you will not recognize His supply. He waits until the need is real to you. He waits until you have come to the end of your own resources; until you have tried everything you know to try. He waits for you to turn to Him as the one and only Source. (continued on page 5)

“But now you must rid your‐ selves of all such things as  these: anger, rage, malice,  slander, and filthy language  from your lips.” Colossians  3:8  “Get rid of all bitterness, rage  and anger, brawling and  slander, along with every  form of malice.  Be kind and  compassionate to one an‐ other, forgiving each other,  just as Christ God forgave  you.”  Ephesians 4:31‐32    Pray these out loud every  time you feel like anger is  getting the better part of  you.  Know that the Lord will  help you to rid yourself of  any destructive anger and  behavior that is unsuited for  a believer in Christ.  He will  immediately step in to help  you!

Get Into The Pool! By Kaithy Paige

Right here, right now... Get on in the pool! This summer don't allow yourself to remain stuck in spiritual blindness or spiritual paralysis because of life's obstacles! We all have them, and shall continue to as long as we're here on this earth. You have a choice, and today it's my prayer that you'll choose to live, and live the abundant life for you! In life, on our Christian journey, I'm sure we've all found ourselves in a position just like the "certain man" mentioned in the Gospel of John 5:1-9. He had been lying on the porch near the pool of Bethesda for a long, long, long time, 38 years to be exact!

How long have you been lying down waiting?

Many times in life we've idly waited for someone else to come along and do something for us that we can do for ourselves. We allow unhealthy self-esteem, slothfulness and procrastination to weigh us down. Then we get upset when we see others get the break-through or elevation that they needed.

We're asked one question in this passage that can change everything in our lives: "would you like to get well?" Our pure heart's desire should be to say "yes Lord" - yes Lord! I want to be made well! As we ponder our illnesses - negativity, doubt, unbelief, gossiping, tale-bearing, murmuring, unfaithfulness, or malicious behavior, we should come to a place of complete surrender. There should be no more excuses for why we haven't done what the Father has enabled us to do! When we're asked the question, we should dismiss any and every excuse! NO MORE EXCUSES... "can't" isn't an option for us to not move forward, because with the Greater One at work in our lives we CAN do all things! We have to move forward into the deeper depths with the Father, so that we can witness the great and mighty things that are still to take place! We have to stop getting frustrated at people when they do not meet the expectation of helping us to get where we desire to be. Remember they too could be sick and in need of a spiritual healing! Get up, pick up YOUR sleeping mat and WALK! Walk it out! Walk into YOUR place of promise! Walk into YOUR place of wholeness! Walk into YOUR place of deliverance! The Father is waiting on you. The waters are being stirred! So this summer when you have opportunity to get into the pool, remember you're going down one way, BUT you certainly don't have to come up the same way! Allow the fresh purifying water of the Holy Spirit to make you well, so that rivers of living water can continue to spring forth up and out of you! He wants to transform your life for the greater work you were created to do!
