Led a  complete  rebranding  of  Tarkenton  Companies  brand,  repositioning  as  a  collaborative  business  group   specializing  in  cutting-­‐edge  cloud-­‐related  products  and  services,  driven  by  the  creation  of  four  new  subsidiary   brands.   Creator  and  primary  executor  of  the  Lodestar  Technology  Labs  business  model,  which  includes  both  proprietary   and  partner  distribution  channels  for  Web-­‐based  software  and  small  business  content  and  resources.   Managed  a  staff  of  five  full-­‐time  designers/developers  and  two  freelance  designers  on  all  strategic  marketing   initiatives  for  Lodestar’s  proprietary  and  partner  distribution  channels:   Designed  and  developed  four  micro  sites,  each  with  one  alternative  design,  for  the  promotion  of  individual   product  offerings  from  Lodestar’s  catalog  of  on-­‐Demand  Web  applications  (300%  growth,  unique  visitors  from  Feb.   2010  to  April  2010.)   Directed  cross-­‐platform,  multimedia  marketing  strategies  (First  year  customer  retention  rate,  Lodestar’s  software   products:  75%)

Conducted Extensive  Market  Research,  including  focus  group  moderation,  in  a  comprehensive,  5-­‐figure,  three-­‐ phase  study  of  Web  conferencing  attitudes  and  habits  among  micro  business  decision-­‐makers.

Media Relations  Manager     Operated  a  high  6-­‐figure  trade  and  consumer-­‐advertising  budget  for  the  fifth  largest  furniture  manufacturer  in   the  United  States  (Klaussner  Home  Furnishings).  Served  as  the  Strategic  Lead  on  all  marketing  and  media   relations  activities  related  to  the  launch  of  the  Klaussner  Home™  consumer  brand  and  retail  outlet  concept  in   October  2007.       • Negotiated  avg.  35  percent  discount  on  rack  rates  for  print/electronic  advertising  campaigns  with  trade   and  consumer  home  furnishings  publications.     • Provided  creative  direction  on  trade/consumer  marketing  collateral  for  the  launch  of  the  Klaussner   Home™  Furnishings  consumer  retail  brand.       • Collaborated  with  Red  Squirrel  President  in  development  and  launch  of  the  Furniture  Transport  Group   brand  (a  just-­‐formed  alliance  of  home  furnishings  logistics  providers).     • Conducted  face-­‐t0-­‐face  meetings  with  editors  and  other  representatives  of  the  furniture  trade   publishing  industry  at  official  launch  events  for  the  KHF  consumer  retail  brand  (Avg.  78%  attendance   rate  for  media  representatives  at  special  events).        

Director of  Public  Relations   Central  driver  behind  all  public  relations  and  trade  media  planning  activities  for  Capel  Rugs,  Taylor  King  Home   Furnishings,  The  Ackland  Art  Museum  and  First  Bancorp,  a  $2  billion  dollar,  publicly  traded  bank  holdings   corporation  based  in  Troy,  N.C.  (www.firstbancorp.com).       • Conducted  all  public  relations  to  local  and  regional  media  on  behalf  of  First  Bancorp.     • Negotiated  competitive  advertising  rates/placements  with  representatives  from  more  than  20  trade   home  furnishings  trade  publications  on  behalf  of  home  furnishings  clients  (Avg.  discount  on  rack  rates:   40%).     • Conducted  planning  and  implementation  phases  for  quarterly  trade  shows  on  behalf  of  home   furnishings  clients,  including  90th  anniversary  special  event  for  Capel  Rugs  (5-­‐figure  budget;  60%   attendance  rate  for  media  representatives).     • Conducted  media  relations  on  behalf  of  all  home  furnishings  clients,  including  monthly  placement  of   product  images/information  in  trade  publications.     • Provided  creative  direction  for  media  relations  collateral  (e.g.  press  kits,  product  releases,  etc.)     • Conducted  face-­‐t0-­‐face  meetings  with  editors  and  writers  from  home  furnishings  consumer  and  trade   publications  like  Martha  Stewart’s  Blueprint  and  Dwell  magazine.     • Tracked  the  results  of  public  relations  initiatives  (82%  percent  average  monthly  placement  rate  in  trade   media  for  Capel,  Inc.)
