January 8

Membership/Fund Raiser The Club benefited from a Benefit performance of the play Basil Dawkins –“A State of Affairs” at the LittleLittle Theatre in Kingston. Present were: Lion President and Lady Lion Valerie, , Lions Milton, Dave, Keith A. , Robin, Valerie Buckle, Evadney, Josephine, Winston Smith and Lady Lion Kay, Winston Anderson and Lady Lion, Bushay and Lady Lion, and several guests. It was an enjoyable evening. Earnings from this venture is not yet reconciled.

PR & Publication The second production of the Lions Pride Newsletter was distributed and circulated to members and friends of the Lions Club Copies were also presented to the Region and Zone Chairpersons. Value of project: JA$ 36,750.00

Membership/ Travelling Blind, A working committee met to discuss the way forward with this project. Participating were: Lions President, Evadney, Milton, Winston S., Winston A., Bert, Debrah, Keith A. Robin and Dave. Leo President Kerona was in attendance. Membership/ Planning for District Governor’s visit , A Committee headed by Lion Denise Forrest PRO met to plan for the District Governor’s visit on Jan. 24. Participating were Lions Denise, Milton, Evadney, Winston S., Valerie, and Bert. Also present was prospective Lion Richard Bramwell Membership/ Community Service: Mona Lions Club was represented at the Society for the Blind “wake” for one of their colleagues who died as a result of an accident. Participating were Lions President Barrington, Milton and Keith Archer.

Membership/ District Governor’s audit The District Governor Lion June McCatty paid her official visit to the Mona Lions Club. The visit took the form of: a) A tour of the Lions Resource Center for students with special needs. Accompanying her on tour were Lions Milton, Keith P., Dave and Valerie plus her Cabinet Secretary/Treasurer and three Lions from her home club. The Governor met and had discussions with Mr. Vivian Blake and students at the facility. b) District Governor’s audit and Address. The District Governor used the Club Health Questionnaire to ask specific questions of specific members. The audit was very informative and instructive and done in a comfortable and relaxing manner. A copy of the latest Lions Pride Newsletter was presented to the District Governor

Membership/Inter-clubbing: Immediate Past President Lion Milton attended and participated in the Social Meeting of the Lions Club of Downtown Kingston. In attendance also were the three candidates for the post of 2nd. Vice District Governor all of whom addressed the Lions and fielded questions.

Membership/Zone Advisory meeting January 30 The Lion President and nine Lions attended the Zone meeting held at the St Jago Health facility in Spanish Town. The meeting was a very interesting one which included a debate on the importance of Lionism in today’s society. “RE-ENERGIZED: TO FULFILL OUR MOTTO” January 22
