ABOUT ME Hi, My name is Adriana Jiménez Murillo and I’m an architect, designer and photographer based in San José, Costa Rica. I studied architecture in Universidad Véritas and presented my graduation project on December 2016. I am nominated for honor graduation, which considers the quality, originality and innovation of the graduation project. The central subject of my project was the use of Foresight as a tool capable of strengthening urban planning processes, A reflection of the Costa Rican city of the future (San José 2050), focusing primarily in mobility, energy and governance. My main interests include urbanism and sustainability. I am intrigued on how energy use, mobility patterns, and technology may shape the urban space, and also how people perceive and experience the city. I really enjoy doing research. I’m analytical, creative, and detail-oriented. Innovation is one of the things I love, I pursuit new challenges and i'm always willing to learn new tools that may help me materialize my ideas. Besides architecture, I really enjoy graphic design, drawing and creating things. I’m also passionate about yoga, playing guitar, cinema and photography, which encourages me keep exploring new places.

PERSONAL BRANDING ADRIANA JIMÉNEZ MURILLO

CO NCEPTUALIZATION

Creating a brand for myself was a challenging task. I wanted it to reflect a lot of things at once. I am obsessed with patterns and symmetry, and wanted to have something friendly and playful, yet, at the same time, elegant, simple and well structured.

LOGO

The design process begins with the letters "A" and "J" (my two initials). The concept of the logo revolves around 4 key-concepts: Symmetry_ The process starts by drawing a four-axis chart, and then a diagonal to give symmetry to the composition. Friendly and playful_ This is achieved thanks to the use of circular patterns around the four-axis chart. Elegance and simplicity_ The composition’s orientation goes from the top-left to the bottom-right. This facilitates reading since we are used to read from left to right and from top to bottom. Structure and balance_ It is achieved thanks to the use of the golden ratio and Fibonacci sequence in the composition (Fibonacci sequence is often found in nature).

BRANDING 358 FINANCE

CO NCEPTUALIZATION

The client has a consulting finance company named “358 Finance”, he wanted de “358” to be the main component in the logo design. In this case the “358” makes a reference to the Fibonacci sequence, that’s why, thanking this into account, the logo is inspired by Fibonacci sequences and patterns.

The design process begins with the number 358. The concept of the logo revolves around 4 key-concepts: Symmetry_ The process starts by drawing a four-axis chart to give symmetry to the composition of the “358”. Elegance and simplicity_ The composition’s orientation goes from left to right to achieve easy reading. The lettering design is simple and elegant this is achieved thanks to the balanced, round, and simple design of the numbers. Structure and balance_ It is achieved thanks to the use of the golden ratio and Fibonacci sequence in the composition, inspired by the sunflower patterns. Strength_ The company wanted to show growth and strength, this was achieved using pyramidal forms in a growing pattern. The pyramid symbolises strength and stability.

CO NCEP TUALIZATION

The Car Free Day encourages citizens to use different transportation modes besides the car, as a consequence it promotes the rescue of urban mobility, the reduction of traffic jams, environmental improvement, and it fights for the right of an enjoyable and safe city for pedestrians, cyclists and those who use public transport. In the Day Without a Car Costa Rica 2016, we achieved, using social networks, a call for attention to all social actors whose responsibility is to provide the best possible services to citizens, performing public challenges to political figures with the hashtags #RetoSinCarro and #DiaSinCarroCR.

IMAGE

For the image of the day without a car was proposed a simple yet playful image, which united the colors of the flag of Costa Rica, and the trajectory of different means of transportation alternative to the car.
