This dormitory is a place for one to find their own niche, like in school the student is winding through the halls , perseveering and being pushed. But then , after all that work, after the twists you unravel to find a breath, an opening.

A library for the disposible and loose leafed. This library will hold short artist’s periodicals or promotional posters from their gallery openings. The diagonal quality of the periodical, Inventory of Destruction by Eric Watier, the library developed a diagonal grid which was used to to organize the circulation and the experience of the imperminent-ness of the periodicals it housed.

The insects fly through space chaotically; Intersecting and only just passing each other the insect’s path creates a gradient of movement.

Colliding forms develop and transform the eveotion of the whole hive. Generative form finding makes collaging of the hive possible.

Analysing the forces within our own body structure reveals forces which we then use to apply and perform. It is then used to be translated and tranformed into basswood structure models. Restricted to only basswood, string and pins the forces at work reveal themselves enabling us to manipulate them to our advantage and efficiency.

Initially inspired by my “Hide Carefully” joint when the pieces were configured. The restrictions and opportunity of joinery within the pieces outside of it’s original arrangement made for a specific proportion opportunity. In my study I explored the notion of negative space and how to make it feel delicate by the contrast of larger masses.
