TESLA POWER STATION The world is starting to focus on sustainable living, with the proliferation of electric cars, our cities must adapt. providing charging stations are now a necessity not merely a convenience of amenity. We were given a plot of land in downtown Ithaca NY and where asked to design a Tesla Power Station. The design process started with achieving an understanding of how Tesla cars work and how

3

they are charge. developing a study of how cars would approach the lot from the adjacent roads, the initial design was born. From there I developed a grid that influenced my final design that connected the flow of incoming traffic with the Tesla image.

FIRST DAM VISITOR CENTER

11

I study and live in a town that bridges the divide between the city and nature. this project required me to incorporate this connection which Ithaca embodies: between the natural and the built. Projecting out from the hillside at a popular gorge in Ithaca, this visitor center is were tourists and townies alike can learn about Ithaca’s many gorges and enjoy breathtaking views. On the lower level is a research lab were samples could be sourced easily from the adjoining hillside. The structure projects the visitor out into the center of the gorge and gives the illusion that one is souring above the waterfall below. negative spaces are made from the extraction and displacement of natural elements.

Nastasi architects

15

In the summer of 2017 I had the opportunity to intern with John Nastasi at his firm in Hoboken, New Jersey. i gained real world experience in the field I am passionate about. I was fortunate to work on preliminary design drawings for three commissions, and to sit in on design meetings with clients. I gained valuable experience and practical knowledge from my time there. these plans were generated by my survey of the existing site and redesigned for renovation. These plans reflect design input by John nastasi.

In the summer of 2017 i had the good fortune to travel abroad and study European art and architecture through a college level survey course. over the course of one month i toured museums, buildings and remains in England, holland, switzerland, France, and Italy and experienced spaces i had only read about up until that point. i took my camera everywhere and viewed the architecture through the lens of my camera. in these photos i capture the way i see and experience architecture.

art It is my nature to create. In every semester of high school and college i have always been enrolled in art classes. I am especially passionate about sculpture. my mind works best when i am elbow deep in clay or covered in saw dust. many of my works are conceptual in nature and speak to my fascination

since my sophomore year, i have been the president of the Ithaca college architecture club. every tuesday, we get together to enhance people’s awareness, appreciation, and understanding of architecture and to explore careers in architecture. i have been primarily responsible for coming up with the weekly activities, design posters to advertise the club, and coordinating group trips with the help of my executive board.

outside ofthe classroom iwork on projects that use pallet board. I scavenge for wood to recycle into headboards and wine racks. for these projects i design, disassemble, sand, cut and assemble the wood to give it new purpose.
