55TH ANNUAL EVENT

ittos

Guiding you thro A Word from the President One cycle ends, another begins. JIB 2010 heralds the changes in laboratory medicine in France. The new law has been published in the Journal Officiel de la République Française, the texts concerning its implementation are ready and the private and hospital laboratory professionals are in the process of reorganisation. Our profession has never known such an important change to manage in such a short period. The construction of multisite laboratories requiring physical and legal alterations, a change in the way of working with the setting up of fragmented or central technical capacities, specialisation of sites and overall accreditation. The job is huge but clinical laboratory professionals will succeed in forging ahead. JIB 2010 is once again going to enable them to gather, acquire equipment and above all make inquiries and exchange information.

A Word from the Event Director Welcome to JIB 2010! More than ever this year’s event will be a guide to changes, a generator of links with your current and future customers, helping them to discover your know-how. France is reforming its biology’s organisation: medicalisation, grouping laboratories together, accreditation… It is for this reason that the content of JIB is evolving and focusing on the current concerns of clinical laboratory professionals. Innovation and a liking for looking ahead, continues to be a priority with NanoinBio, BioMI, Technological Innovations – BioMI workshops, practical workshops, clinical cases, thematic itineraries, opening up to the industry within the scope of the congress. This year, there is a strong scientific theme on “Environment and Health: challenges for laboratory medicine” in the presence of Jean-François Bach, permanent secretary of the Académie des Sciences and, among others, Pierre Corvol, director at the Collège de France.

Have a great JIB everyone!

The Congress allies knowledge, scientific progress and improvement of professional practices. It is a major opportunity for the industry to put in a lot of effort and participate as players of the most recent developments. Organised this year around a main theme that focuses on “Environment and Health: Challenges for laboratory medicine”, the congress also aims at the disciplinary diversity of the sector. A number of sessions are offered to provide an update on what has been happening in the industry scientifically, professionally, and technologically. It is an occasion for the industry to support and act within a profession by way of a workshop, sponsorship of sessions and satellite symposia.
