Stream Pavilion Sculpturer Soho in a Corner of River Type: Academic studio work ( Solo work ) Time: September-October 2013 ( 10 weeks ) Tutor: Assoc. Prof. Wei Qing Location: Kunshan City, China Covering Area: 535m² Size: 1922m² In the project, I am assigned to choose an artist and design an artist soho for him on the riverside. Every studio crew choosed a lot in this region to design a soho. I choosed a teacher who teachs sculpture in art college and I appericate him for offering enough information of a sculpturer soho' functions. I hope to complete the soho fully combining with the natural condition. The place I choosed is located in the corner of river and the artist I choosed is a sculpturer. The main concept is to use different flow directions of river to content different space properties.

Build an artist village in a scenic mountain located in Qunshan city. There is a large lake at the south side of overall base, between two pieces of land in the Valley, and there is a stream running through the base,which brings a beautiful natural landscape of site.Because of the steep mountain and the flat ground site, mountain form a terraced terrain base along the mountain passing down.There is a vehicle lane beside whole base.

Function Organization The whole architecture is devided to two differnet function parts.One of the parts is for residing which can be regard as a villa.The other one is for sculputure work and the work part is also devided to exhibition area and creating area.

Kids-knoll Full-time Kindergarten in High Density Resdiential Type: Academic studio work (Solo work) Time: November-December 2013 (10 weeks) Tutor: Prof. Ercu Gorgul Location: Kunshan,Jiangsu,China Covering Area:2498m² Size: 5067m² The site of the kindergarten is surrounded by a high density residences where almost all buildings looks like the same. I hope to design such a space which can release kids’curiosity and inspire their active instincts.then I consider the kindergarten as a knoll surrounded by big mountains. This imagination leads me to create a scene that kids are playing between the knolls. In order to fit kids’ lively natural instincts, knolls can create different and vagarious spaces to make kids quest as a carrier and symbol .Standing in the each part of the kindergarten makes kids feel standing on interesting knolls,which can provide kids unique visual and spatial experience.

Concept Possibility

One Kunshan residential area will build a full-time kindergarten in 12 class. Lot covers about 20 acres (13500m²), GFA of approximately 4500 m².

In a densely populated residential area. the kindergarten is like a small hill surrounded by mountains, and for kids to explore. So I tried to search for various spaces among mountains in order to find interesting spatial experience that can be applied to kindergarten.

Lot introduction: Location: Southeast corner of Hengshan, Songshan road intersection, Kunshan development area. Lot Size: 20 acres. East: A community. South: A community. West: Songshan road, urban subsidiary road. North: Hengshan Road, urban arterial road. Set back requirement: 15 metres from the lot line. Requirement: Consider the effects of traffic noise on children's life and activities. East and South of base are residential area.Plan a subsidiary road to solve pedestrian flow evacuation of kindergarten.Need to consider residential areas’ sunshine effect on living rooms and activity places of kindergarten.

Rock Climbing Hotel Theme Hotel in a Mountainous Region Type: Academic studio work ( Solo work ) Time: February-April 2014 ( 10 weeks ) Tutor: Prof. Zhuang junqian Location: Suzhou City,China Covering Area:2959m² Size: 6760m² Site is located in the a scenic tourist area of Shaoxing, east part of China. Site is surrounded by sparse vegetation and face a lake. There is a quite big fluctuation in local weather. Task is to design a theme hotel. Since individual preferences, I choose rock climbing club as the theme. At first stage of design, my first question is how to integrate my building with environment. I found that stone around lake as one of the main elements of the mountain region can be used as the symbol of the form of the building, which matches theme climbing Club and stimulates the perceptual space which inspire people’s resonance. Select stainless steel plates whose shininess is stronger as an outer skin. Shiny surface shows that the building is an outsider, but at the same time it reflects the surrounding rocks, mud, trees ad sky, perfectly integrating with the surrounding environment.

Shaoxing city is located in east part of China,and is a subtropical monsoon climate zone, with significantly monsoon, distinct seasons and rainy climate. But because it is in middle latitude and terrain is complex, there are significant differences in climate.

In spring, there is increased rain, variable wind direction, weather changes, and very heavy rain; in summer, there is strong sunlight, high temperature and often drought; autumn is the second rainy season; winter is cold and dry and the weather is stable, which is the season when temperatures and precipitation are least in a year. Within many rivers and lakes, Shaoxing city is known as the " land of rivers and lakes " at home and abroad. Because of effect and direction of mountains and subtropical monsoon climate, rivers generally flow rich and seasons vary largely as same to the water level.

The building’s first floor is subtracted and become a viewing platform to grasp changing water level, as same to a large stair in front of passageway.

The center of the building becomes a grand atrium with a skylight, maximizing daylight and circulation in the building.

Using lightreflecting stainless steel as façade material, creating mirror image of the fast-changing climate, changing water level and environment surrounded.

Keeping Twisting Hise Rise Design in an Old Industry Area Type: Academic studio work ( Solo work ) Time: September-November 2014 ( 10 weeks ) Tutor: Lecturer. Gu linkui Location: Shanghai, China Covering Area:3514m² Size: 46221m² Site is located in an old industrial area and it was a building material market. But because of the development program of the old city, it was demolished. What surround around site are mainly old factories from the industrial age and will also be removed. There is also old-and-new-mixed residential area around. In south side, there is a large park. The goal of the design is to create a landmark commercial complex. Because of huge consuming capacity in residential area, the site has great development value to profit. New commercial complex can bring new vitality into the old industrial area, reshaping the region face, and lead the subsequent development. The podium building contains exhibition hall to memorize the history of the old area. I also want to combine both the building and landscape to make the building a landscape, so form the aerial view, not only bringing a touch of green to the area's skyline, but also echoing Park at the south side.

Main Structure of Tower

Concept of architectural’ form comes from the dancer of flamenco dance. Dancer's skirt twists with the dancer body, full of vitality, meeting the intention of bringing vitality to old industrial area. Lace on the skirt makes me think that open a cut in the building, and then implant into trees. Final building’s image gives the impression that a woman is dancing in a green skirt.

Painting from nature——China history village 2013 Series Gouache When I was walking in the village of Hongcun which is World cultural heritage, I can feel the architecture wisdom and elegant beauty from the simple elevations. This series of paintings express my understanding of those ancient dwelling units from one-dimension to three-dimensions.
