Comenius Concert in Gdynia, 21 March 2012 – presenters’ script
Welcome ladies and gentlemen to tonight's concert.
K This evening is particularly important for us R because we have our international friends as our guests, K and we hope everyone will find this evening's programme enjoyable. We have invited the vocal band of The Polish Navy Club to sing 3 songs for us. K We will hear a popular song ‘ Yellow Submarine ‘ and ,"Hymn do Bałtyku ''which I'm sure will interest you and perhaps make you feel even closer to our Baltic Sea! And ‘In the Navy’. Our first song is "In the Navy'' . I think the lyrics speak for themselves : R In the navy, mind at ease .

R We hope you enjoyed that! K From the rhythms of those songs, we now move to the world of dance, brought to you by our Junior Secondary School Choir who will perform R "Sing & Swing" ... Enjoy !! ( leci piosenka ) K It is always nice to have a contrast and, heeding this, we will change the mood of this evening's performance: R our next song tells us how sometimes it is hard to live in this crazy world and to understand others’ actions and motives. K Please welcome again our school choir, with their rendition of "Mad Mad World ''. R Dance is an important part of all cultures, and we want you to experience some of our traditional dances during your visit.
K Please enjoy, while you listen to our choir sing "Hej tu u nas na Kaszubach" malowané zemjé, wódë, lasë, smúdżi, górë dziwni czar w njich drzémje. And our girls and boys will dance the Polonaise for you. We hope you like it ...
R That was the last performance by our Polish students. Thank you everyone! K And now our friends from the Czech Republic. In a very cheerful song, as the title suggests, we should dance it is not a difficult dance and we can all have some fun trying it! For sure, we will have great time with this song .,,Tancuj , tancuj '' R Czech Republic . K The next song is ,,Vyletela Holubicka" and it means 'flying dove which flies out of the stone'. 4. R Please enjoy . ! 5. K Now it's time for our Hungarian song, but the title is very difficult to pronounce! "Ha te tudnad, amit en '' which means R "If you know what I know '' ...... our Hungarian friends. 6. R And now they will perform for us a special dance ,, Bodrogkozi '' maybe we will learn some of this dance. We hope you will like it ...
7. K Hungary. 7. K And now we will hear our Turkish friends in a Turkish song ,,Gul Pembe'' – which means ‘Pink Rose , they’ll also show us Giresun's Folk Dances ,,Horon & Kasik '' ( from the the Black Sea region ). We cordially invite.
R Turkey! K And finally ... the students from England. They have prepared a song titled "The Water Is Wide'' : The ocean is wide, but somewhere it ends. The second song is “Rolling in the Deep’ : There's a fire starting in my heart… originally performed by Adele. We invite our English friends to perform these beautiful songs for us.
R Please welcome .. ! 8. K The English students will now also perform a traditional dance style called ,,Morris Dance '' . We hope you will like it ... R England!
R Sadly, ladies and gentleman, we have now reached the end of tonight’s progamme. K Please join me in saying a big "thank you" to everyone who performed for us this evening and of course all those who helped organize our concert.
