Audiobooks & eBooks Lehighton Area Memorial Library offers audiobooks and eBooks to our students for free! This great service is available to all students who have a current Lehighton Area Memorial Library Card. If you have access to the Internet you will have the opportunity to download an audiobook/eBook on your: iPad, iPod Touch, or iPhone, Android, Kindle, NOOK, Sony Reader Wi-Fi and Kobo. What are Downloadable Audiobooks?—Downloadable Audiobooks from Overdrive are digital versions of audiobooks that are available through the Internet. Audiobooks can be played on any desktop or portable device supporting Windows Media Player version 9.0 and above. What are eBOOKs?—An electronic book is a book-length publication in digital form, consisting of text, images, or both, and produced on, published through, and readable on computers or other electronic devices. Click on the “Overdrive Logo” to go to the Carbon Lehigh Downloadable Library website.
Click the “Participating Libraries” link.
Start searching for your audiobook or eBook! I searched for “Koontz” and located a book titled Odd Thomas. If your title is available to loan, choose the version you want and click “Add to Cart”. If the title has no copies it will say—Place a Hold. Click on “Place a Hold”—when it is your turn you will be notified via email that it can be checked out and downloaded. Once you have all your items click on “Proceed to Checkout”.
Choose “Lehighton Area Memorial Library”. Enter your fourteen digit library card number with no spaces (you may have to renew your account). Enter your password which should be 1234 unless you have changed it.
You will be contacted, via email, that your book was automatically returned when it has reached the due date. There are tons of videos that can help you with your own device or if you have any other questions about using this great service.
