Lola Cars was created in 1958 by Eric Broadley and is Great Britains oldest manufacturer of pure racing cars. Lolas have raced in many classes including Formula 1,endurance sports racing and Indycars. In 1997 Martin Birrane became its owner and Lola Cars in now part of a group that includes composites and special projects divisions. Lola Group is now a global supplier of advanced technology in areas as diverse as aerospace, defence, automotive, motorsport and communications. In January 2012 Lola unveiled the Lola-Drayson B12/69EV all-electric Le Mans Prototype Car. Its aim was to be the fastest electric powered car to lap the Le Mans circuit. In 2018 Lola will hold its 60th anniversary and like other great racing car companies before it the company is proposing to design and build its own commemorative road going electric supercar in very low volumes .The B18/RoEV will showcase all of the capabilities of the Lola Group.

Collab projectJordan Gendler Luke Robus Sam Lucas Thomas Lumley Louis Gospel Motorcycle taxis are agile and maneuverable and often the quickest way for a passenger to get around an urban environment. While fast, they are open to the elements, considered unsafe, and have close to no luggage storage. The closest intermediate between a bike and a conventional taxi in this sector is the tuctuc/ rickshaw used most commenly in India. The tuctuc shares none of the agility or speed that a motorcycle has. This project is a study of what a happy medium between both vehicles could be.

6 MONTH JAGUAR ADVANCED INTERNSHIP

HOW CAN PERFORMANCE CARS STAY USABLE AFTER THE EFFECTS OF CLIMATE CHANGE? In a future already effected by climate change, severe weather is frequent and sports cars as we know them today are unusable in the heavy rain, extreme heatwaves, violent storms and blizzards. The Jaguar Supercell concept is a vision for a Jaguar sports car that can provide all the thrill, performance and driving experience of a small lightweight sports car in extreme and otherwise dangerous weather. Using ground effect, thermal armour, and driver vision assistance, the Supercell is how sports cars will survive climate change.

THE PROBLEM

The irreversible effects of climate change will continue to alter future weather patterns creating more regular, extreme weather. With current performance cars already unable to perform in existing bad weather, how will a future Jaguar sports car adapt for a harsh environment?

THE SOLUTION

Thermal performance - protection from dangerous high and low temperatures Driver visual assist - minimise glass house for safety and augment visual aids in the cabin Traction aids - using technology to give performance car levels of traction on all road surfaces
