Philanthropy The Singita School of Cooking community project was launched in 2007 by the Singita Sweni head chef at the time, with the support of one of his sous chefs. They created a chef-training concept focused on unemployed young people from the local communities. The project has been extremely successful and with over 300 young people interviewed each year, only 8 candidates are accepted. As vocational skills training is very much lacking within rural communities in South Africa, Singita and the community place great value on this particular project. Activities Singita Lebombo Lodge was created as a transient witness to the land, when Singita was granted the rights to a concession in the southeast corner of Kruger National Park. Rangers say the park holds some of the highest concentrations of game on the continent. Every morning and evening, Land Rover safaris offer new excitement, from large prides of lion to abundant herds of buffalo or a solitary rhino, all seen against a backdrop of rivers, cliffs and an incredible diversity of flora. Guided bush walks and a visit to the Singita School of Cooking can also be arranged. The on-site Singita Boutique & Gallery offers art, sculpture, ethnic crafts, jewelry and safari fashions.

Location Lebombo is located in Singita’s private concession on the border of Mozambique in southeastern Kruger National Park in Mpumalanga Province, South Africa. It’s approximately 45 minutes to Satara by air from Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport, and approximately 1.5 hours from Johannesburg. The lodge is about an eighthour drive from Johannesburg, and two to three hours from Hoedspruit and Skukuza.
