YOU Made an Impact through the Jewish Federation of Ocean CountyEnosh and Ofakim L'Atid

We are happy to share with you information about two of our newest grantees, doing important work as Israelis struggle with 10/7 and the ongoing war. These grants were approved at our Jewish Federation of Ocean County November Board Meeting.

Ofakim L’Atid

Ofakim L’Atid, a well-respected Druze NGO (non-governmental organization), is organizing an effort to purchase much-needed above-ground cement security shelters to be immediately deployed in Druze towns in northern Israel. The need for such shelters came to light following the tragic loss of life of 12 Druze children on a soccer field in Majdal Shams.

In coordination with the IDF’s Home Front Command and the local Heads of Security in five Druze towns in the Galilee and Golan Heights, Ofakim L’Atid has secured 18 Negev Shelters manufactured by and Israeli company, Redimix. The shelters are fully approved by the Home Front Command and, once the funding is received, will be placed in five Druze towns within one-to-two days.

The Jewish Federation of Ocean County sponsored a shelter helping to fill a gap until the Government of Israel can provide additional shelters.
