FEDERATION’S MISSION Our mission captures our commitment to the sacred work of building Jewish community by saving and improving lives, and enriching Jewish life...here in Palm Beach County, in Israel and around the globe. We are your center for philanthropy and planning, providing capacity and up-to-the-minute resources to help inform your giving throughout the Jewish world.

YOU CAN! OUR COMMUNITY DOES SOME EXTRAORDINARY THINGS. YOU ARE HERE... ...living, learning, socializing and playing. Whether you live here year-round or come for the winter, you are a resident of this exciting and vibrant Jewish community. You are here...You are home.

Partnering with Federation, your reach extends throughout the world – anywhere and everywhere our Jewish family may need us. As your annual gift makes a global impact, — St. Petersburg, Russia

Federation is right beside you, working to provide for our community and promote smart philanthropic strategies that assure the highest return on investment.

In Israel’s Tzahar Region, we support: — Israel

n

training and educational programs

that break the cycle of poverty n

mentoring and enrichment programs for

children at-risk and programs to help new immigrants integrate successfully

In St. Petersburg, Russia, our programs: n

rejuvenate Jewish spirit and culture

n

cultivate a continued vigor in Jewish life

We are here… particularly in challenging and uncertain times. We address overseas needs through partnerships created with the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC) and the Jewish Agency for Israel (JAFI), including Masa Israel, which offers study, internship and volunteer opportunities to 18-to-30year-olds that last five months to a year.

Because Federation IS community. Annual Campaign Chair Hope Silverman enjoys some time with local children on a playground at the JCC.

I am involved. I am committed. I love this community. It’s my home… and it’s yours, too. — HOPE SILVERMAN

Federation is the one organization that unifies the Jewish community of Palm Beach County, and connects it to our extended Jewish family in Israel and around the world. Our community is more than 137,000 strong…and quickly growing. We’re building a world-class Jewish community for today and tomorrow. And more people of all ages are moving here every day. Partnering with our local agencies – and generous donors – we do so much to: n

feed the hungry

n

help the unemployed and unfortunate

n

provide support for families with special needs

n

maintain a basic standard of living for our people

n

promote Jewish life and cultural experiences

n

develop future leaders

…and so much more! Lynn Peseckis reads a PJ Library® book to a group of synagogue preschoolers.

Each and every day, we work to make the world a better place.

The joy that kids experience participating in Jewish Early Childhood Education makes me feel that there is a bright and vibrant Jewish future for our community. — LYNN PESECKIS

One of the largest at-risk groups in our community is our elderly, including a considerable number of Holocaust survivors living below the poverty line as they age. At the other end of the spectrum are the Jewish children, teens and adults that we help experience Jewish values and traditions, building strong, lasting Jewish identities and connecting them to Israel. We have big dreams and plans for our next 50 years. Visions and aspirations that we will fulfill together to build and sustain our community for our children, grandchildren and future generations. Our family of partner agencies and donors like you make good things happen! Our community is working together to better the lives of those who need us the most. We’re proud of that...and we know that you are, too.

PLEASE MAKE A MEANINGFUL GIFT TODAY. IF YOU’VE SUPPORTED OUR COMMUNITY IN THE PAST, PLEASE CONSIDER INCREASING YOUR LAST GIFT BY 20%, BECAUSE AS WE GROW, SO DO OUR NEEDS... Among our most-pressing, ever-increasing demands: (left to right)

Local programs help our seniors live independently, with dignity and joy. Federation supports the Lola & Saul Kramer Senior Services Agency, Inc., a subsidiary of MorseLife.

n Scholarships for Jewish camp experiences, tuition assistance for Jewish preschool and religious school, and quality, low-cost Jewish programming to help our community members connect with each other and their Jewish identities...the better to enrich Jewish life. n Increased home-based services to frail and low-income seniors, afterschool programming for the children of working parents and short-term financial assistance...to save and better the lives of our extended Jewish family. By definition, community is all of us. If you need help, we’re here for you. If you don’t need help yourself, please join us in helping others.

It’s about clal Yisrael. We are all part of one Jewish community and it is our responsibility to do everything we can to help one another. — BEN GORDON
