Joel Perlmutter

A legacy of kindness and generosity

The Jewish Federation of Ocean County has been blessed for decades by the support of Joel Perlmutter z"l and his wife, Lynn. Sadly, our Federation family and the greater Ocean County community lost a great friend when Joel passed away in March of this year. Joel cared deeply about his Jewish community. We are forever grateful for his and Lynn’s generosity, particularly for their continuing support of our Jewish Film Festival. The Jewish Federation of Ocean County will forever remember Joel – a caring man, generous and humble philanthropist and dear friend. His memory is a blessing for all.

he Jewish Federation of Ocean County and Jewish Family and Children’s Service (JFCS) are the places where philanthropy, volunteerism and a commitment to making a difference fuel our mission of "Tikkun Olam." Together with donors and volunteers, we are impacting lives and helping to repair the world everyday by: Connecting People Volunteer opportunities, monthly home delivery of the Jewish Journal and exciting cultural, social, and educational programming bring our Ocean County community together. Caring for Those in Need JFCS provides 34,000 annual hours of at-home and medical assistance to Holocaust survivors, more than 140 hours of counseling to members of the general public and social opportunities and transportation for seniors. Celebrating Jewish Life • Cultural events include The Jewish Film Festival, The Place to Be, Jewish Heritage Day, community-wide Purim Carnival, Central Jersey Shalom Cultural Club concert and more. • We co-ordinate matters of communal safety and security and work to combat hate and anti-Semitism. Through the Ocean County Diversity Initiative, we work with other faith and community groups to build respect and understanding. • PJ Library provides free monthly subscriptions of Jewish-themed books and music for children up to six-and-a-half years old. • Our forty-decades-strong Israel partnership supports Birthright Israel, the Joint Distribution Committee and the Jewish Agency For Israel. Planning for the Future A new mini-bus has increased services and accessibility for the elderly of Ocean County. Growing Philanthropy We are working to increase annual giving by expanding our donor base in order to ensure we meet the growing needs of our Jewish Community. Join the Federation family, and help us make a difference!

he Jewish Federation of Ocean County’s Fourth Annual Jewish Film Festival has something for everyone – documentaries, shorts, and feature-length films – stories that will inspire you and make you laugh and cry. The Festival celebrates great art and powerful storytelling, all through a Jewish lens.

Heartfelt thanks to our generous sponsors without whom this Festival would not be possible. Many thanks also to our wonderful committee for their love of cinema and dedication to curating a most special and exciting roster of films and to the JFOC staff for their tremendous support. And thank YOU, our loyal moviegoers, for supporting the Jewish Film Festival every year. We look forward to seeing you at the movies! Lauren Gordon and Lauren Rosen Festival Co-chairs
