For the past 75 years, JFS has been an open door to all in need. As a donor, you may not always see the direct impact of your generosity. You likely will not witness the single mother shopping for the last time in our food pantry, the smile on a man’s face as he completes his Microsoft Office training, the relief of a teenager finishing their final therapy session, or a family finding safety in a new apartment after escaping violence.
But as we celebrate JFS’s 75th anniversary, you have the opportunity to not only witness, but also to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of JFS. Our Meeting the Moment campaign is the catalyst for making our vision of selfsufficiency and well-being for all a reality.
To build the foundation for the next 75 years, JFS will expand our health services, grow our endowment, and create sustainable structures. These changes start with meeting our $40 million campaign goal.
Guided by our Jewish values, JFS takes a holistic approach to serving our community, offering comprehensive health services that address physical, emotional, nutritional, and financial well-being. Thanks to generous donations, we opened the JFS Northpoint Health Center this March, making affordable and accessible healthcare a reality for our clients across Greater Dallas.
While we’ve made significant strides, there is still much more to be done. JFS is located in a unique area of Dallas where social services for low-income families are scarce. These families, often assumed to be affluent due to their zip code, struggle to access the care they desperately need. Our clients are hidden in plain sight and are frequently overlooked— both within the Jewish community and beyond.
Few agencies in North Texas offer a wide range of services under one roof. Jewish Family Service of Greater Dallas will lead the way, but we can’t do it alone.
Your participation in the Meeting the Moment campaign will ensure that we can continue to address these important, unmet needs of our community.
None of JFS’s successes would be possible without the generations of support from our community.
We invite you to help shape the future of JFS and the Greater Dallas community by investing in our comprehensive $40 million campaign. This investment will enable JFS to continue to meet the growing needs of our community, expand our campus into a new facility that will increase the number of clients we serve, and grow our endowment to ensure the long-term viability of Jewish Family Service of Greater Dallas.
One-year renovation project underway at the Jewish Family Service of Greater Dallas Karla & Larry Steinberg Building. Estimated to open late 2025.
Last year, your support helped more than 26,000 individuals who came through our doors. Help us provide comprehensive services that address physical, emotional, nutritional, and financial well-being for all in need.
Your donation enables us to provide high-quality primary medical care to individuals of all ages at the new JFS Northpoint Health Center. In addition, JFS’s wraparound services support couples on their journey to parenthood through the Priya Fund and help older adults age safely and comfortably in their own homes. Your generosity ensures that everyone receives the care they need to live healthy, fulfilling lives.
By supporting JFS, you help provide access to counseling, therapy, the PLAN Clubhouse, and school based services, opening doors of opportunity for both adults and children struggling with behavioral health challenges. Your donation also enables licensed professionals to intervene in situations of family violence, ensuring a safe environment for families at risk and helping them heal from trauma.
Your support empowers individuals struggling with debt and seeking better jobs to turn their lives around. Last year, our certified coaches helped over 1,620 people in our community secure employment, achieve their goals, and manage their finances. Your donation also enables JFS to provide emergency financial assistance to families facing hardships due to illness, natural disasters, or other unexpected challenges.
Every day, approximately 90 families visit the Food Pantry to receive a month’s worth of groceries at no cost, including Kosher and seasonal items. For many, your donation makes the difference between having food on the table and going hungry. Your support also enables volunteers to pack and deliver kosher meals to home-bound individuals who might not otherwise have access to fresh food.
“ast year I injured my knee, which had a complication with my diabetes causing so much pain that I often had to miss work. It became so bad that I ended up in the ER, where they suggested a treatment I couldn’t afford.
That’s when I turned to Jewish Family Service. The team at the JFS Northpoint Health Center accepted my medicare insurance and was able to treat my knee and is helping me to manage my diabetes, as well. JFS considered how I got into this situation, and provided job skills training through their Career and Financial Services Department to help me find a new job that’s easier on my joints. I’m excited to start my first Microsoft Excel course and interview preparation next week!
I was also referred to the JFS Food Pantry, where I now have access to groceries and diabetic-friendly recipes. This helps me manage my health better and ensures I have food on the table as I start my new job.
I’m thankful
to JFS for not only helping me
treat my injured knee, but also for supporting all of these connected parts of my life and helping me get on a path to self-sufficiency.
