The clients sent over these images as key inspiration with the main objective being minimalist Japanese design. They lived abroad for a few years and wanted to bring a piece of it back home to Texas After hours of researching Japanese culture and design, I was confident moving forward with a clear mind. For this project, my goal was simple wow the client and push myself to new heights of creativity. I was thrilled. As the lead designer on the project, I really wanted to highlight natural materials and texture to exude tranquility.
Working left to right, this first photo was the initial inspiration for their primary suite bathroom. They loved how it made a statement with a mid century feel without being too busy. What struck me the most from this photo was the use of color. From there, my wheels were turning.
This exterior shot was the main driving factor for the brick pattern and front facade. When sourcing exterior finishes, I knew I had to
keep this image at the forefront of my mind. Luckily for me, the firm I worked at designed it.
The use of open screens were something special they also wanted to incorporate. Keeping with the theme of natural materials, it was a no brainer that these would be finished with stain rather than paint.
As for the kitchen, they really emphasized the need for a large entertaining island that was multifunctional In their inspiration image, I was drawn to the use of a double waterfall but wanted to push the envelope on the design.
Lastly, the powder bath was a space that I blended my design with some of their existing pieces. At first I was hesitant but after seeing the pieces, I was certain I could make it work Which brings up the next crucial point, all of this had to be done under or at their budget with no wiggle room. Challenge accepted.

The zen-inspired bathroom highlights the use of color while still achieving a calming feel. I wanted this design to foster tranquility even more so because we saved majorly in our budget with the use of faux onyx here.
The kitchen is designed with the use of white oak as the main star as it is carefully balanced in each area of the space Wood slatting on the walls and ceiling for added texture, a floating cabinet that brings a sleek, modern feel and dental details over the windows to draw your eyes up. The longer you look, the more details you will notice.

I worked with the client’s existing vanity in the powder, integrating it seamlessly with new design elements for a fresh, modern look. I added textured wall tiles to create depth and visual interest, turning the space into a true statement.
A custom hidden vent hood seamlessly integrates into the cabinetry in the kitchen for a clean, streamlined look. One standout feature is the kitchen passthrough window that connects directly to the dining room, making entertaining effortless. The island creates a welcoming space for casual dining or conversation, making this kitchen both functional and inviting. This was a super fun photoshoot to direct and I am happy with the completed project.

After their youngest child left the nest, my homeowners decided it was the perfect time to create their dream home fit for their needs. This project started as a spec build with Robert Elliott Custom Homes and quickly turned into a custom build with opportunities for new ideas driven by their lifestyle. With a client of this caliber, it was essential to provide options for areas we could afford to push the boundaries The fireplaces, wall paneling, custom millwork, finish selections, and my close partnership with Evolve Technologies were the foundation of taking this home to the next level. Building on that, I began envisioning the furnishings and fabrics I would be placing and designing for their entire house. It was a moment in design heaven where I have a client who wanted to break away from the norm and I didn’t have the chance to see it through. I appreciated how much my clients respected my vision and were equally as excited as I was to see it come to life. I was brought on this project to breathe fresh ideas and I did simply that.

Inspired by timeless and bold aesthetics, this home was designed with four key priorities: staying within budget, ensuring quick lead times, using family-friendly fabrics and furnishings, and curating a chic environment Built in 2006 with no visible updates, the homeowners were eager to transform the space and make it uniquely theirs, blending practicality with sophisticated design.

After moving from India, my clients were excited to start fresh with all new everything. What that meant for them specifically was living in their home with only essential furniture. Knowing their situation, it was important for me to set the clients expectation moving forward so they knew exactly what was to come throughout the design process. Having lived in Dallas previously and loving the area, they decided it was the perfect place to settle down and establish roots
I wanted to design a space that created a sense of home as they embarked on this next chapter. For me, that meant using rich tones, strategic uses of paint and lots of different textural elements where they least expected it.
With a semi open floor plan, I wanted each space to seamlessly flow into the next. I took a holistic approach to the design, keeping cohesion throughout the home while still giving each space its own unique identity.

This full scale renovation is jam packed with one of a kind design. Small in footprint, this mid century modern oasis more than makes up for it with character. With large scale windows and pitched ceilings, natural light floods each space bringing the outdoors in.

My clients gave full creative freedom with the initial inspiration being the architecture of the home. They wanted to have a home that was where everyone gathered. Whether that is their kids having friends over, or hosting an outdoor concert, these clients loved to entertain and simply have fun.
Learning more about the clients and their lifestyle, I had a clear vision on how to drive this design
I gravitated towards patterns, unique materials with playful applications.
This project is one of my all-time favorites because of its free-spirited design. What makes it even more special is that there were no revisions what I initially envisioned is exactly what was brought to life. Not only did I design the space, but I also had the chance to photograph the project, capturing its essence exactly as I imagined. This home holds a special place in my heart, as it transformed the way I approach and think about design.
