JESSICA DUBOIS

DESIGN CHALLENGE

The Body Shop, focused primarily on selling natural skin care products, wanted to redesign the cashwrap and power wall for their stores. For this redesign they wanted the branding moments and store values to be very prominent as they felt it was lacking beforehand. For this project, our team decided to focus on the ingredients and the community involved in each product.

PAVE DESIGN CHALLENGE WINNERS

GlobalShop 2018 Upon winning the PAVE Student Design Challenge, our design was brought to Chicago to be a part of GlobalShop 2018. With the help of our sponsors, as well as the manufacture, S-Cube, our design was brought to life. During this experience we were able to work directly with the manufacturer and help within the building process. We attended the trade show for the three days and met so many others within this vast field. This real life experience was like no other and increased our retail design skills.

DESIGN CHALLENGE PapercaseStudio, an event a home decor business, decided to open a pop-up shop located in Boston. This space was to have a café, consult area, retail space and a sitting area.

DESIGN CHALLENGE A couple is planning on aging-in-place in their one story home. To design for this, consistent hardwood flooring was used throughout. Ample space was provided throughout all hallways and entrances into room as well as around furniture. The Renaissance theme was utilized throughout the material choices within the kitchen design as well as through the use of columns.

DESIGN CHALLENGE A family with a child who is on the spectrum wanted to redesign their two story home with the proper requirements and safety features for their daughter. The stairs were carpeted to provide for her sporadic falls, the sensory room was placed near the kitchen on the first floor to allow for her space. Her room was designed to have a private nook for her to feel comforted and room darkening curtains were used to help with her sleeping problems.

DESIGN CHALLENGE CannonDesign needed a satellite office located in Miami, Florida, that can represent the company and it’s values as well as reflect the location it is in. The reception area’s ceiling is to be perceived as lower, the space to the door has to be perceived as further away and the space overall needs to feel cool, exciting and sophisticated. This was achieved by using dark paint on the ceiling, light wall coverings, and bright furniture as well as various light sources.
