rowing up in Los Angeles has taught me a lot. A full tank of gas will get you through the week, the numbers ‘101’ and ‘405’ will strike fear in your heart, and even when it rains you are always in a drought. But the live music and culture is abundant and will win you over, the mexican food is real and deliciously mind blowing, and a day at Dodger Stadium will leave you bleeding blue and craving Dodger dogs. Los Angeles is the most populous city in the U.S. state of California and the second-most populous in the United States, after New York City, with a population at the 2010 United States Census of 3,792,621. It has a land area of 469 square miles (1,215 km2), and is located in Southern California.

Nicknamed the City of Angels, Los Angeles is a global city, with strengths in business, international trade, entertainment, culture, media, fashion, science, sports, technology, education, medicine and research and has been ranked sixth in the Global Cities Index and 9th Global Economic Power Index. The city is home to renowned institutions covering a broad range of professional and cultural fields and is one of the most substantial economic engines

in the US. It is also one of the most substantial economic engines within the US. Los Angeles has the third largest (GMP) at $831 billion. The Dodgers have won six World Series titles and 21 National League pennants. The team has also produced 12 Rookie of the Year Award winners, including four consecutive from 1979–1982 and five consecutive from 1992–1996, the longest consecutive streaks in Major League Baseball. avigating the untamed jungle of Los Angeles is a feat in itself. The city is divided into over 80 districts and neighborhoods, many of which were incorporated places or communities that were annexed by the city. Greater Los Angeles includes a number of enclaves and nearby communities. Generally, the city is divided into the following areas: Downtown Los Angeles, East Los Angeles and Northeast Los Angeles, South Los Angeles, the Harbor Area, Greater Hollywood, Wilshire, the Westside, and the San Fernando and Crescenta Valleys. The Southern California freeways are a network of interconnected roads in the megaregion of Southern California, serving a population of 22 million people. A comprehensive freeway plan was produced in 1947 and with construction beginning in the 1950s. The plan hit opposition and funding limitations in the 1970s and by 2004 some 61% of the original planned network had been completed.
