Quartz is very scratch-resistant, hard, and nonporous. To protect it from germs, moisture, and stains, prefabricated island countertops, are non-porous. This means it does not need to be sealed. Quartz counters may withstand acidic spills better than genuine stone counterparts like marble, as long as they are cleaned up soon.
