This boutique hotel is located in the historic district of downtown Denver. The site is narrow and long, measuring 25’ x 125’ and is flanked on the east by the historic Sugar Building and the west by a row of two story office buildings. Hotel Azul focuses on efficiency of space by utilizing our nested suite configuration. A sense of ethereality becomes manifest through the use of bright colors, transparent, translucent, and opaque surfaces. The hotel features a habitable double skin, a roof top bar and pool, yoga studio and spa, conference rooms and a street level cafe.

control point stapleton : Inspired by the sport of Orienteering, Control Point Stapleton is an Expeditionary Learning School located in the re-developed area of Stapleton, Co. The northern corner of the site is anchored by an historic hanger known as Hanger 61. Hanger 61 is the main point of entry to the campus which functions as a gathering place where students and teachers meet each morning before departing to their individual classrooms. The classrooms go beyond the conventional standards of facilitating a learning environment. They become useful tools that can be configured to accommodate each instructors teaching methods.
