Dark Souls Review

This is a game review for Dark Souls. Dark Souls is a very hard game.It was created by a man known as Hidetaka Miyazaki. He was also The Director of Demon Souls and Kings Field. Both were created before Dark Souls and were also very hard. The game is know as one of the hardest games on console ever created. It’s not that hard ounce you know what you’re doing. So a goo tip for the game is level up skills you won’t use much but know you’ll need early in the game. you don’t want to waste all of your souls later in the game on things you’re not going to use as much. Since the more you level up the more it will cost to level up. Instead of getting experience in the game to level up you spend your souls on leveling up. Souls are used as a form of currency in the game. Example in normal games you would get gold or money and use it to level up your stuff before battle. In Dark Souls you use souls which all enemies drop. The stronger the enemy is the more souls they drop. The

Bosses drop lots of souls but even with all the souls they drop it may not be enough to level up even ounce. I personally am no expert on the game i’m only level 67 which sounds like i’m doing really good but it’s nothing but a low level in this game since you can get to level 700. To get that far would be extremely hard. Like the game isn’t hard enough already some weapons can only be upgraded to a plus five weapon while others can go up to plus 15. Sure they would be one hit kills for the first and second playthrough on minions but, ounce you get to even further play-throughs it gets even tougher. No matter how far you get into the game each playthrough gets even harder. Your items will only level up so far and ounce you get them to maximum they won’t level up any further. The weapons you get on your 1-10th play-through won’t get any better the weapons you get on play-through 1 will be the same as the weapons on play-through 10. Now to the story line, I saved it for last since there isn’t much of one. The story is about you (an undead) being in a jail cell at the beginning inside an asylum. A knight walks above your cell and drops you a key to help you escape. when you escape you have to fight your way to a giant raven which then takes you to Fire Link Shrine. Fire Link Shrine

is the main area were you will get your first mission. The mission is one of the hardest missions in any game i’ve ever played you have to ring 2 bells. One bell is in a church tower and it takes forever to get to it. The other bell is in a area called Blight Town. Blight Town is one of the most laggy areas in the game. Half the time the game is lagging the whole way there. So while you’re worrying about getting poisoned and hit with a toxic attack you are lagging. As if fighting the monsters in the area wasn’t hard enough you also have to deal with lag. Then after you finally get through there you have to go all the back to go to a new area you unlocked when you rung the bell. You go to Fire Link Shrine and a new character is there. The new character is King Seeker Frampt. He’s a giant serpent who will allow you to sell your items to him by letting him eat them. Thats the closest to selling unwanted items you can get in the game. He eats them and gives you souls for every item he eats. You can also get extra souls for the boss souls you have on you. Each boss gives you a special soul thats an item. You can use this soul for souls to help you level up or take it to a blacksmith and have him turn it into a special weapon or shield that could help you during other boss fights. For example one boss know as Great Grey Wolf Sif gives you a soul that you have to have to get the best shield in the game. The shield is impossible to break through and blocks all damage. Needless to say that could be very useful to have during boss fights. Each boss also gives humanity. Humanity is used to transform you from an undead into a human. the more humanity you

have the more resistance you will have to all types of damage. You will also have more chance to pick up drops like shields and weapons. All bosses drop like 1-5 humanity you can also find it in random areas and if you kill rats they drop humanity. I recommend saving your humanity because it takes alot of time to get humanity from the rats. Every rat has a small chance to drop 1 humanity. It sucks but, If you die you’ll lose all your humanity so there’s no reason to use alot of it. In this game every time you die you lose all your souls and humanity. The only way to get it back is to find were you died and pick it up but if you die and lose it then you lose it again you lose it forever. Dying in this game is really not a question of if you’re going to die it’s more like a question of when you’re going to die. This game is not made for someone who’s going to throw their controller when they die. I know that because i’ve already had to buy a new one since I started playing it. The game is really unfair and seems impossible at some parts but, as long as you keep leveling up and getting stronger then it shouldn’t be to bad.
