[BE]FLOWGROUND seeks to reintegrate the perception of bodily physicality back into every day life, addressing the contemporary alienation of mind and body, digital and physical. While the virtual world becomes increasingly vital to the functioning of our societies, our bodies

remain in the physical world. A typical day for someone living in the 21st century consists of moving from one sitting position to another, leading to a narrow range of vertical movement throughout the day. In [BE] FLOWGROUND, a wider range of interaction with the ground plane becomes a part of daily living.

INSTALLATION: A LIVING ROOM NOVEMBER 2015 TRANSFORMATION IN EXISTING HOME DESIGN STUDIO III : THE GRAND DOMESTIC REVOLUTION LOCATION: CAMBRIDGE, CANADA SUPERVISORS: ADRIAN BLACKWELL IN COLLABORATION WITH AMY BAO, ZOE GOODMAN, & CAITLIN PARIDY SOFTWARE: AUTOCAD, RHINOCEROUS, ILLUSTRATOR, PHOTOSHOP, INDESIGN The installation seeks to challenge preconceived notions of program and occupation in domestic settings. The large living room in the Grand House was underutilized, as occupants deferred to existing furniture configurations and custom rather than altering the layout for their own use. By subverting the traditional layout and usage of the room, the installation

INSTALLATION: A LIVING ROOM
reengages the spatial and sensual awareness of common spaces, and calls into question their usage by their inhabitants. By literally flipping the existing couches and furniture upside down and rearranging them, the transformation inspires a new understanding of the space, triggering new and different programming and usage.
