$ Studio'Brief:'Build'a'tower'as'high'as'possible' using'small'blocks'of'wood'provided.'The'tower' must'be'able'to'accommodate'a'toy'dog;'so'at' least'one'opening'is'required.' $

We$began$the$tower$with$a$square$base$and$a$ row$through$the$middle$in$order$to$stop$the$ sides$from$collapsing$inwards.$Small$gaps$ were$left$between$the$blocks,$as$it$would$ have$been$inefficient$and$too$heavy$to$have$ all$the$blocks$close$together.$ $ $ $ $ $ $

As$the$tower$grew$taller,$we$chose$to$reduce$ the$size,$and$changed$to$a$circular$form,$in$ order$to$be$more$efficient$with$the$blocks.$As$ we$had$a$strong$base,$the$tower$was$able$to$ get$very$high.$$

By$carefully$removing$blocks$from$the$base,$ we$were$able$to$create$four$openings,$while$ still$keeping$the$tower$solid.$The$base$turned$ into$four$pillars.$ $ $
