2014 Sponsorship Package

Hartman Reserve Nature Center

Hartman Reserve Nature Center

INTRODUCTION

Hartman Reserve Nature center is a 300 acre wooded isle located in the heart of metropolitan Black Hawk County, Iowa. Since its establishment in 1976, Hartman has been a proud part of the Cedar Valley with the mission of understanding the environment through education, recreation, and community involvement and to the stewardship of a unique natural area.

Date: Sunday, April 20, 2014 Time: 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Location: Hartman Reserve Nature Center 657 Reserve Dr. Cedar Falls, IA 50613

The Reserve houses three habitats: forest, wetland, and prairie. This three-in-one environment provides a natural experience unique to Iowa and much of the Midwest.

The reserve is a partner site of Silos and Smokestacks National Heritage Area, which is one of 49 federally designated heritage areas in the nation and affiliated via the National Park Service. Hartman is also designated as an Iowa Watchable Wildlife Site, and Important Bird Area, and certified by the Iowa DNA Preserves Board. The Reserve boasts paved and unpaved biking and hiking trails, connection to the Cedar Valley Paddler’s Trail, and a variety of quality facilities in addition to its notable natural features. The Interpretive Center is central to many of the Reserve’s programming experiences. Complete with hands-on exhibits, a gift shop, and a beautiful banquet hall, this facility is a highly sought rental facility for weddings and other events. The Gene and Betty Buckles Program Center demonstrates “green building” through its energy efficiency and use of recycled building materials. This facility is also used for programming and available for rent. We would like to take this opportunity to invite individuals, businesses and organizations to participate as a sponsor in the 2014 Earth Fair at Hartman Reserve Nature Center and take advantage of the many benefits available exclusively to sponsors of the event. Thank you for taking the time to review this package and we look forward to your support.
