About the Anton Art Center The Anton Art Center's mission is to enrich and inspire the lives of Macomb County residents and visitors of all ages, through the infusion of the arts into everyday life. We achieve this through exhibits, educational programming, community outreach and special events. Our success comes from creative leadership, a strong sense of community and the generosity of our members and supporters. The center is a non-profit 501(c)3 institution that relies almost entirely on corporate and individual donor support to operate. Current partners include Community Central Bank, Henry Ford Macomb Hospitals, Macomb Community College, the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs and the Target Corporation. The Anton Art Center receives regular media coverage in the Detroit Free Press, the Macomb Daily and the Metro Times, as well as on the Bath City Beat, a student-produced news show that airs on local cable affiliates. About the 2010 Mount Clemens Art Fair The Anton Art Center presents the 2010 Mount Clemens Art Fair. The fair takes place in picturesque downtown Mount Clemens, a small-scale urban landscape with retailers, restaurants and nightclubs. The Anton Art Center has hosted a fine arts fair for over 25 years. The Mount Clemens Art Fair was among the first in the region to present fine artists and fine crafters along with alternative and urban crafters. The 2009 Mount Clemens Art Fair drew approximately 10,000 visitors and attracted a great deal of media attention, including live spots broadcast on WXYZ-TV. Several partnerships are being pursued in an effort to maximize the fair’s impact on our local economy. Instead of inviting outside food vendors to the area, downtown restaurants, bars and coffee shops have agreed to offer specials to art fair attendees. Regional entertainers and performers are also being invited to perform at the art fair. The 2010 Mount Clemens Art Fair aims to entertain the community with the greatest possible local impact. Artists working in and exhibiting all media are expected, including ceramic, painting, photography, jewelry, metalwork, textiles and more. Over $1000 in cash prizes will be awarded to the most outstanding artists of the fair. Artists will also be invited to enjoy a complimentary breakfast Saturday and Sunday mornings. Fine artists and fine crafters participating in all three days of the art fair are invited to conduct artist demonstrations at their booths. The Anton Art Center will publicize demos to attract a more discerning art fair patron, along with artist attendees. New in 2010, an indoor space adjacent to the art fair will play host to a different form of art each day of the fair, from student artists to alternative crafters to fine art galleries. Friday will feature the Student ArtSpace, Saturday will be the Crafters’ Carnival, closing on Sunday with the Mount Clemens Metropolitan. On Friday, the Student ArtSpace will offer an opportunity for art students to demonstrate their skills. Saturday, the Crafters’ Carnival will showcase alternative and urban crafters in a community atmosphere. Sunday, the Mount Clemens Metropolitan will feature artwork from some of metro Detroit’s leading galleries. A wide variety of performers will be scheduled throughout the art fair, inviting couples and families to relax, while they continue enjoying the art on display. A Children’s Tent will host make-and-take arts and crafts for kids of all ages, along with age-appropriate entertainment. The 2010 Mount Clemens Art Fair has a Media Sponsorship agreement pending. The Art Fair has wide demographic appeal and will be advertised throughout Macomb County and the surrounding area. We will be providing postcards to artists, sending out press releases and e-blasts to our mailing lists. In addition, full-color posters are displayed in area businesses and full-color programs are available to fair-goers, ensuring your company’s logo is highly visible.
