Cookieʼs Story Cookie was abandon at a local animal control in NJ. When we saw this beautiful girl we could not let her be euthanized and took her into a foster home. She has the sweetest personality, enjoys her belly rubs, and just loves the attention any human gives her. We soon noticed Cookie would breath heavy and was quickly taken to the vet. Upon hearing the outcome, we were devastated to find out Cookie was born with a heart defect. Cookie's heart did not form with all the right size components, so to speak, that a normal heart would have. Due to this, the blood that filters through her heart does not do so the way it should, causing a lack in the oxygen levels being disbursed to her body. This is what causes her heavy breathing. Poor Cookie just loves to play but unfortunately due to this she cannot over exert herself, as she will become tired very quickly. Cookie is still a young dog at about 5 yrs of age, and can still have many wonderful yeas ahead of her but she will need surgery to correct her heart. She has not given up on life yet, therefore we will not give up on her.

Lena is up for adoption!
