Patricia Battersby Patricia Battersby, a fifth generation Californian is a Broker and founding partner of Village Associates. First licensed in 1973, she had several years experience in marketing, specializing in real estate development. Since 1984, she has been a consistent top producer in residential real estate in Lamorinda. She graduated from the University of Oregon School of Business Administration with honors and attended the University of Pavia, Italy. Known as the ultimate professional, she brings experience, integrity and strong commitment to serve clients in every transaction. In 2003 her daughter Ashley joined her, and together they have formed an extraordinary partnership, earning the highest respect of their clientele. She and her husband live in Lafayette, and she has been involved with the schools and community service over the years. Both her daughters attended Lafayette schools.
Ashley Battersby First licensed in 2003, Ashley Battersby is a California real estate broker with Village Associates. She is partnered with her mother, Patty, and together they are a top producing partnership in Lamorinda. She graduated from Vanderbilt University with honors and studied international business at Bocconi University in Milan, Italy as a postgraduate. Her background is in marketing, communications, business, architecture, design and art history. She offers a â€˜tech-savvyâ€™ side to their partnership using all of the latest and greatest tools. Raised in Lafayette, she was very active in the community and sports programs throughout childhood and high school. Joan Cleveland Joan has been a top producer in residential real estate since 1977. She specializes in Lafayette, Moraga, Orinda, Walnut Creek, Pleasant Hill, Alamo and Danville. Her continued success is the result of the satisfaction of her many repeat and referral clients. She received her BS and MBA degrees from the University of Michigan. Village Associates Joan Eggers
Joan Eggers is a licensed real estate broker who has been selling in the Lamorinda area since 1979. When Village Associates was established, Joan was one of the original partners of the company. She graduated from Penn State University and studied Advanced Education at Lehigh University. She taught school for five years before raising her three children in the Orinda schools. Joan and her husband have lived in Orinda for over 35 years and have actively participated in the community and schools. She has constantly been a top producer being recognized by many professional organizations. Her honesty, trust and integrity have earned her the respect of her hundreds of clients over the years.
Linda Ehrich A Lamorinda resident for over forty years, Linda Ehrich has strong roots in the community. Linda grew up in Lafayette and attended Acalanes High School and Santa Clara University where she met her husband. She has three grown children who also attended local schools. Before becoming a Realtor®, Linda managed Men’s Sportswear and Men’s Suits at Nordstrom. Linda has been an active volunteer, participating in and chairing many community fundraisers and events. Joan Evans A Realtor® since 1993, Founding Partner of Village Associates and lifetime resident of Contra Costa County, Joan brings a unique combination of real estate experience plus first-hand knowledge of the community. Joan grew up in Lafayette, graduated from Acalanes High School and received a BA in Business from San Francisco State University. She and her husband, Larry, have lived in Moraga since 1970, where they raised their two daughters, Laura and Angie. Active in education, Joan is a founding board member of the Moraga Education Foundation and current member of the American Association of University Women, National Association of Realtors, California Association of Realtors and Contra Costa County Association of Realtors. Her daughter, Angie Evans Traxinger, a licensed Realtor®, is Joan’s assistant, bringing a wealth of local school information after 11 years of teaching in Lafayette.
Linda Sonnenschein Friedman Linda grew up in Orinda, was in the second graduating class at Campolindo High School, and graduated from Stanford University and Stanford Law School. After practicing law briefly, Linda made a career switch and has been a real estate broker since 1975. Linda has been a consistent top producer whose loyal clientele value her experience, professionalism, and negotiating prowess. She and her husband, Dan, reside in Orinda where they have raised their two children, Katie and Kevin, and play an active role in the community.
Marianne Greene Marianne is a broker and has been a resident of Lamorinda since 1976. She has lived in Orinda and Lafayette. She is active in her community and also with many charitable organizations. Currently she is very active with “A Friendly Place” in Oakland, which helps homeless women. Marianne has three children, Jed, Jess and Anna who all graduated from Acalanes High School. Marianne was born in Finland and attended Hogvalla University. Village Associates Pamela Halloran
Originally from the east coast, Pamela has been a San Francisco Bay Area resident for over 30 years. She holds a Bachelor of Business Management degree from St. Mary’s College. Pamela has been helping people buy and sell homes in Contra Costa and Alameda Counties since 1987. She specializes in, but is not limited to, the Lamorinda area (Lafayette, Moraga and Orinda), Walnut Creek, and Pleasant Hill. Having determined this to be the best area to raise a family, she moved here when her eldest was two. Pamela still believes this and finds it natural to share the concept of living in this area. Dexter Honens II Dexter is an Orinda native and second generation, real estate broker. Licensed and practicing residential sales full-time since 1989, he is continually recognized as one of Orinda, Lafayette and Moraga’s most established and respected Realtors®. Dex co-founded Village Associates Real Estate with his partners in 2000. The oldest of eight kids, he graduated from Miramonte High School, played soccer, made the rank of Eagle Scout and earned a B.S. in Marketing from California State University, Chico. Dexter and his wife, Kelly, formerly an Orinda Elementary School teacher, reside in Orinda where they have raised their daughter, Haley, and son, Miles. Debbie Johnston Debbie joined Village Associates in 2008, after thirteen years as a top producing Realtor® with Coldwell Banker in Orinda. Debbie has earned a reputation for providing exceptional service to her clients, with over 90% of her business either repeat business from past clients or referrals from those clients – a strong testament to the client loyalty she generates with the integrity, professionalism, and knowledge with which she serves her clients. Prior to real estate, Debbie spent 15 years as a sales and marketing executive in the computer software industry, honing her contract and negotiating skills. Debbie attended San Diego University, majoring in Social Welfare. She now resides in Moraga Country Club with her two children. She is an avid animal lover, supporting numerous animal related charities. Debbie enjoys horseback riding, dog training and rescue, and reading.
Hal Kaufman Hal is a licensed real estate Broker, Senior Real Estate Specialist, e-Pro, Eco-Broker, Graduate Real Estate Institute and was a founding partner of Village Associates Real Estate. Hal was born and raised in New York, graduated from the University of Bridgeport and did his graduate work at Hunter College, where he earned his teaching credentials. He moved to San Francisco in 1976 where he became a top producer for a national clothing company and later ran his own import clothing company prior to entering the real estate profession with his wife, Margot. Hal and Margot have been one of Lamorinda’s leading real estate teams. They have been residents of Orinda and Moraga since 1981 raising their two daughters, Samantha and Elizabeth.
Village Associates Margot Kaufman
Was raised in Canada and attended the University of Windsor. She entered the fashion retailing field and was affiliated with a number of leading Bay Area retailers in senior merchandising positions. Margot partnered with her husband, Hal, in his import clothing business prior to entering the real estate profession. Margot and Hal have been one of Lamorinda’s leading real estate teams with a hands-on approach to facilitate their clients’ goals. They have been residents of Orinda since 1981 raising their two daughters, Samantha and Elizabeth, so they know the public schools first hand. When not volunteering for the schools and Loaves and Fishes, they love to travel and collect contemporary art. Sue Layng Sue is a long time residential specialist in Contra Costa County, covering the towns of Lafayette, Moraga, Orinda, Walnut Creek, Pleasant Hill, Alamo and Danville. A founding partner of Village Associates, she is a consistent top producer, and known by both her clients and her fellow agents for her attention to detail, professional integrity and firsthand knowledge of the market. Sue and her husband Brian raised their three children in Lafayette where Sue has been heavily involved in the community and schools. Art Lehman Art is a graduate of the University of Miami with a BA and MA in Clinical Psychology. A California Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist having worked in community mental health. Art has been a licensed Realtor® since 1993, a founding member of Village Associates, and serves on the Board of Directors. He has been a top agent for residential buyers and sellers in our area for 20 years. His vast wealth of experience has also included expertise in working with probate, trust, divorce attorneys and corporate relocation companies. Mr. Lehman is a member of the National Association of Realtors, California Association of Realtors, and CCAR. Art has been a resident of Lafayette and raised his family here for the past 20+ years.
Charles Levine Charles received his BA from the City University of New York. He has lived in the Bay Area since 1974, when he established his own real estate related business that proved successful for over 25 years. His business skills and real estate experience helped him become a top-producing broker, formerly with Solomon Wilmington & Associates. Charles and his wife, Jill, have lived in Orinda since 1987 and have one son, Nathan. Charles is active in the Lamorinda community where he coaches baseball, is a school volunteer and is active in his son’s Boy Scout troop.
Village Associates April Matthews
April is a Bay Area native and a founding partner of Village Associates. She has served on their Board of Directors for many years. April and her husband moved to Orinda in 1993 “for the schools” with their two young daughters, Lauren and Hillary, now Miramonte graduates. April’s customer service, marketing skills and professional integrity were sharpened as an Executive for Nordstrom. She helped to introduce them to California in 1978. After Nordstrom, came 11 years of clothing development and traveling overseas to implement designs and negotiate production contracts. A Realtor® for 15 years, April’s clients value her personalized service, attention to detail, enthusiasm for the process, negotiating skills, and community knowledge. April works hard for you in Lamorinda, Alamo, Pleasant Hill, Rossmoor, and Walnut Creek.
Karen Murphy Karen has been a licensed real estate agent since 1994, serving the Lamorinda community. She is a founding partner of Village Associates and is currently on the Board of Directors. A graduate of Stanford with an MBA from Haas School of Business at University of California, Karen practiced as a CPA with Arthur Anderson & Co., and has been actively involved in the community including two terms on the Orinda Union School District Board. Karen’s clients benefit from her community knowledge, financial background, negotiating skills and practical guidance in both buying and selling properties. She has lived in Lamorinda since 1983 with her husband Tim and has two grown sons, Brian and Ben. Sue Olsen Sue is a licensed real estate broker who has specialized in Lamorinda property since 1977. Sue’s clients value her local expertise, her client focus and her ability to get things done.
