Hemorrhoids or piles are enlarged veins around the anus or the rectal region of the human body. They are a major source of discomfort and pain and, in severe cases, result in bleeding too, giving rise to bleeding hemorrhoids. The external hemorrhoids are the fleshy growth of enlarged veins that grow outside of the anus and the rectal area. There are many people who think that hemorrhoids that bleed are dangerous and they will result in cancer. This is a misconception. This condition is there because pockets of blood form in the anus region and when you exert pressure on them they bleed. This mostly occurs in the event of hard bowel movements when the pocket is broken due to the pressure and the blood comes out. These bleeding hemorrhoids may bleed for weeks and it is advisable to seek medical advice and treatment for them as soon as possible. If they are left unattended, they will cause more discomfort and you have the possibility of getting infection in the future, leading to more complications.
